Chapter 19: The Seige of the North

Third person POV:

Yue and Sokka were riding Appa when they saw Saori drop out of the clouds.

"Saori!" Yue called.

A flying creature zoomed down and caught the calm girl before going back into the clouds.

The terrified Yue turned to Sokka who had a calm expression, "Sokka, we have to save her!"

"She's fine."

Yue turned to where Saori had disappeared and saw the girl being carried by the flying spirit and into the tribe.

"Trust me, I had the same reaction the first time that happened."

Time skip

"Spirits!" Aang exclaimed, "Maybe I can find them and get their help!"

"How can you do that?" Yue asked.

"The Avatar is the bridge between our world and the spirit world. Aang can talk to them." Katara explained.

"Maybe they'll give you the wisdom to win this battle." Yue smiled.

"Or maybe they'll unleash a crazy attack on the fire nation!" Aang exclaimed. "Or wisdom, that too."

"The problem is, last time you got to the spirit world on accident." Katara said. "How are you going to get there this time?"

"I have an idea, follow me." Yue turned away and began to walk. "Saori spends most of her time there, if she has to go to the spirit world she meditates here." Yue pointed to a circular door.

She opened the door as Aang went inside.

The airbender saw Saori's back facing him as her body was sitting completely still.

A faint glow emerged from the sorcerer's back, dimmed by her clothing.

"It's so warm here." Katara removed her coat. "How is that possible?"

"It's the centre of all spiritual energy in our land." Yue explained.

"You're right, I can feel some.." Aang thought of a term to describe the place. "It's so.. tranquil." He sat down next to Saori in a meditating pose.

Time skip

"He's my friend, I'm perfectly capable of protecting him." Katara spoke.

"Well aren't you a big girl now?"

"No.." Katara recognised the voice.

"Yes." Zuko walked towards them. "Hand him over and I won't have to hurt you."

Katara took a fighting stance as Zuko sent fire from his leg followed by two punches. He repeated the form as Katara protected Aang and Saori's defenceless bodies.

Katara managed to land a hit on Zuko making him fall. "I see you've learnt a new trick. But I didn't come this far to lose to you."

Katara sent the prince back and enveloped him in a ice of sphere.

"You little peasent." Zuko's voice muffled through the ice. "You've found a master haven't you?" Zuko broke free from the sphere and attacked the waterbender.

Zuko went closer to Aang and Saori and grabbed the back of their collars but was thrown back by Katara.

The sun rose as it's rays powered Zuko's firebending. He let out a hot stream of air through his nose as the ice around him melted.
