"Ember Island?" Saori quizzed as Iris and Dior nodded. "Yes master, you must go to the Ember Island and investigate about the water spirit the younger son of admiral Chan should be investigated."
The girl sighed and scribbled down a note for the sleeping gang. "Very well, let's get going."
Her body flickered as she disappeared. It was way faster than opening a portal and took way less efforts as well. "I don't understand why Wan Shi didn't give me that scroll before." She murmured to herself.
Dior appeared next to her and sat on her shoulder. "Wan Shi Tong has asked you to relax a bit as well, and go to a party hosted by the admiral's older son, you will get vital information about the spirit from the younger brother." Dior vanished.
"Oh great..."
"Saori?" Ty Lee walked to the girl before hugging her. "I missed you!"
"We met a just few weeks ago, and we were fighting eachother." Patting the girl's back and pushing her off.
"Still! Now let's go in the water!"
Saori contemplated whether to agree or not. "No."
Ty lee pouted as Saori walked away. "Maybe some other time."
The nonbender smiled and ran to catch up with the girl. "You promise?" She held out her pinky.
"This is childish." Saori stared at her hand. But ended up wrapped her own finger around Ty Lee's, who squealed in delight.
"Hey beach bums, we're playing next, Ty Lee get over here now! Sorcerer, I want you on our side this time." Azula called out.
Zuko's eyes landed on the girl as she walked past him. "Saori?" He whispered out as he and and Mai got up.
"Her?" Mai raised an eyebrow. "She didn't even spare a glance at you."
Zuko dramatically took of his top as some girls cooed. Saori untied her dress revealed her faint abs and back tattoo as a boy cat-called her. Frowning she stormed over to him and whispered something in his ear making his face drain colour.
"Is that clear sweetie?" She sarcastically smiled at which the boy nodded vigorously.
The sorcerer walked next to Azula as she began. "See that girl with the silly pigtails? When she runs towards the ball, there is just the slightest hesitation of her left foot. I'm willing to bet a childhood injury has weakened her."
"Keep serving the ball to her left and we'll destroy her AND the rest of her team." Azula completed. "Dismissed."
Time skip
"Yes! We defeated you for all time! You will never rise from the ashes of your shame and humiliation!" Azula breathed out. "That was fun."
Chan and his friend approached the winning team specifically, Ty Lee and Saori. "I'm havin' a party tonight, you two should come by."
"Sure! We love parties!" Ty Lee smiled as Saori observed Chan's face.
"Your friend can come too." He said, referring to Mai.
"Uh.. what about me and my brother?" Azula stepped forward. "Aren't you going to invite us? You don't know who we are do you?"
"Don't you know who WE are? We're Chan and Ruon-Jian." Chan bragged.
"Yeaaa."
Zuko stormed forward as Azula stopped him.
"But fine, you're invited. Just so you know though, we're some of the most important teenagers in the fire nation are going to be at this party so, try and act normal." Chan spoke.
"We'll do our best." Azula smirked.
Time skip
Saori walked into the party and was greeted by a running Ty Lee trying to hide from her fanboys.
"I haven't been to a party like this before." Saori mumbled under her breath.
"What do you mean?" Ty Lee peaked over Saori's shoulder.
"Well, most parties I've been to are more.....formal."
"Like?"
"A masquerade." Saori remembered when she had gone undercover to kill a fire nation official. "Good times."
Saori recalled who she had to interrogate. "Was it that Chan no no no his pet-nope ah. How could I forget his brother." Saori remember as she walked to a boy who held a resemblance to Chan.
Putting on an overly sweet grin she began. "Hey there."
Time skip
Zuko walked alone on the beach when he saw Saori give a rolled parchment to a raven as it flew away.
"Saori?"
The girl turned to the prince, her eyes blood red giving off a faint glow. "Yes?"
"Your eyes..." He tried to make a conversation.
"They're red, I know." She rolled her red hues before turning and walking to a flat rock, taking the second rolled paper, another raven appeared as it held the parchment in its leg and flew off. "Why are you talking to me? Don't you have a party to attend?"
"Just listen to me."
"Why?"
"Please..."
Saori sighed as her eye-colour darkened. "What is it?"
"Did you really mean it?"
"Listen, your highness, you will have to be a little more specific. I can't read minds, I don't know what you mean."
"Right.... What I mean is when at the crystal catacombs, you said 'I don't understand what I saw in you before' and I wanted to know what you ment by that."
"You can take it anyway you want."
"Stop giving me such vague answers!" He shouted. "I don't understand what you mean!"
"Do not raise your voice at me." Saori warned, her red eyes devoid of emotions.
"Saori, just tell me did you mean it." Zuko begged.
"What do I gain from that?"
"Are your own gains only important to you?"
"They are." Saori turned around and started to leave. Zuko grabbed the girl's arm and stopped her.
"JUST TELL ME IF YOU MENT IT!"
"Why should I?" Saori repeated not changing her voice the slightest as she swatted the prince's arm off her.
"BECAUSE I LIKED YOU OKAY?! THERE I SAID IT! I LIKED YOU THAT'S WHY I WANTED TO ASK YOU WHETHER YOU MENT THAT YOU HAD EYES FOR ME BEFORE!" Zuko revealed.
Saori's eyes widened at the confession as she softy whispered out.
"I did."
