Third person POV:

Saori walked on the hill when she heard someone crying. Walking to the sound she found Iroh singing to a portrait of a man who held a resemblance to the firebender.

After Iroh finished the song he turned around to see the girl. She gave him a light bow as a greeting.

"Saori.." Iroh wiped his tears. "I'm sorry you had to see me this way."

"It's fine Iroh." Saori sighed. "I understand."

"What?"

"I haven't told anyone about my past but I feel that I can trust you." Saori revealed. "I have tried my hardest to forget about it."

"I will keep it to myself, I promise."

"I grew up with two sisters, one who was three years older than me and my younger twin. We were the perfect happy family, my mother was the sister of the chief of the Northern Water Tribe and my father was a powerful waterbender, so my family was prone to trouble."

Saori paused as she recalled the past before continuing.

"To protect my older sister, Mai, me and my twin Sayori, we left the tribe and lived in a town in the middle of nowhere, hiding our wealth and status to avoid trouble."

"A few criminals had found out about who we were and decided to kidnap my sister and return her for money. Father had gone to the place the criminal had told him to go to with the money but he was ambushed by the criminal's friends and.."

Saori tensed up as Iroh understood what happened.

"And was.... Killed... He managed to kill some of the friends which made the criminals angry. My sister barely escaped and told the rest of us what had happened. After about four months, the criminals managed to track us back down and planned a full blown massacre of the settlement where we lived. Sayori was killed during it because she tried to save a baby even though she was just eight herself. Me, Mai and Mother managed to escape and made another fake identity. My mother was still grieving over father's death and after the death of Sayori she lost her mind. As we both were identical twins, my mother forced me to act as if I was my dead twin sister. She would call me by her name, give me what Sayori liked and even introduced me to others as Sayori. Basically, it was Saori who died, not Sayori."

Saori's eyes watered as she wiped them off.

"I went through that hell only because Mai was by my side, she was the only one who still treated me as if I was....me. We lived in secrecy but the criminals found us when I had just celebrated my thirteenth birthday, I was coming home from school when I saw blood splattered across our neighborhood. My first instinct was to check if Mai was okay, but someone grabbed me and pulled me into Mai's room. My mother's corpse was dripping with blood in the corner and Mai was tied to a chair. I was forced to sit there and watch as they forced Mai to look at mother and hold her corpse. After they had their fun they held my head up and forced me to watch as they decapitated the only person I loved."

Hot, silent tears streamed own her pale skin as she shuddered.

"I don't know what clicked inside me but I managed to control their bodies, as if they were puppets, it was terrifying, but I was on the verge of insanity so, I felt happy, excited even. The people who had made my life living hell were at my mercy, and I loved that feeling. I-I-"

Saori stammered as Iroh gently patted her back. "Breath, in and out."

Saori obliged as she continued. "I killed them, I made them explode... And I liked it... I liked the blood of my enemies cover me from head to toe. I liked the first time I killed a human. I adored it.."
