The pair soon finished eating as Ace continued to watch her, never had he been so fascinated with a girl like her before. Every other girl he messed around with was always easy and open, this one was anything but. Feisty, full of fire and willing to defend herself."What has he got?" Ace finally asked as he leant back against the wall and looked over at her again.
Vivian looked up at him confused.
"You said he had something of yours that made you stop fighting?" Ace pushed. "What is it?"
Vivian didn't respond as she looked away.
"You gonna tell me so I can get it back for you?" He continued to push.
"You're not gonna touch it." She snarled out at him.
Ace sat up straight. "Don't you want it back?!" He snapped slightly.
"I can handle it by myself thank you." She snapped at him.
Ace scoffed. "Sure looks it from in here." He bit sarcastically.
Vivian glared at him. "You know, you don't know shit about about me Merrill. I've said it before and I'll say it again so just back the fuck out of my business." She snapped as her eyes almost burnt through his.
Ace laughed as he shook his head. "You know if you had balls and a dick I'd call you a cobra."
"Thank heavens for small mercies." Vivian grumbled as she looked away from him.
"Then again, a female cobra might be entertaining." Ace mumbled as he began to imagine his mark on her arm.
"Bite me." She snarled out as she flung the tray on the floor and lay back down on the cot, facing away from him.
Ace laughed. "And there's your catchphrase."
Vivian scoffed from her position but refused to turn over and face him.
"I think the boys would love you, you know?" He continued to push. Every time he pushed her buttons she told him something and the more she told him, the more he wanted to know so the more he pushed. Not to mention, Ace Merrill was known for pushing.
"I think you'd get on great with them." He continued. "Charlie would have a thing for you of course, the boy wants anything that breathes. Eyeball might, but again, the boy wants anything that breathes."
"Shut up Merrill." Vivian grumbled from her spot on her cot.
Ace, of course, didn't. "But you could easily handle them I'm sure. One swift punch to the jaw and they'd back down."
He put his own tray on the floor as he lay down, in an attempt to get comfy.
"Besides that," he continued on. "I think you'd fit right in."
He tilted his head so he could look at her, she continued to face away and not reply.
"You know if you were to stay with us, we'd look after you right?" He offered. "You become a cobra and you're part of us. We look out for each other."
Again Vivian remained silent but Ace knew she was still listening, she had no choice.
"We wouldn't let anyone call you that nickname again." His voice softened slightly.
"We'd get back whatever he has of yours too, if you wanted?"
Ace watched as Vivian shuffled slightly.
"Don't you ever fucking sleep?" She groaned out.
Ace laughed slightly and shrugged. "Sleep better with a girl next to me." He mumbled.
"Fuck off."
Ace laughed again as he rested his hands behind his head. "Oh you're definitely warming to me now."
Vivian scoffed from her spot as Ace nodded slowly.
"Look I'll ask you this once and only once." He started as he tilted his head to look up at her again. "Do you want me to get you out of here or not?"
Vivian was silent as she thought over the question. Unless she told the officers whatever they wanted to know, she'd be stuck in her for ages and she had to get out sooner rather than later. Yet with Ace, it would come at a price. She knew he wouldn't do it for free. He'd want information on her too, maybe money, sex? She had no clue what he wanted.
"Well?" He asked again but was met with more silence.
"Vivvy baby?" He asked once more with a small laugh.
"Fuck off Merrill." Vivian finally retaliated.
Ace laughed and nodded to himself. "I'll get you out then." He mumbled as shuffled himself once more, trying to get comfortable.
"I don't owe you shit." Vivian snapped quickly. She was not going to allow herself to get stuck or caught up in a debt with someone like him.
"Course not." Ace mumbled as he shut his eyes. "Though a thank you might not go a miss."
Vivian grumbled from her spot as she, herself, began to shuffle about, trying to get comfortable.
"I'm serious you know?" Ace spoke up again as Vivian sighed once more, didn't he ever shut up?
"I'll get you out of here and then you can go get whatever it is you want back." Ace mumbled.
Vivian was silent.
"And I'm not saying you need help but if you did want a little extra back up..." He mumbled again.
"I can handle it by myself." Vivian once again grumbled at him.
Ace nodded slowly as he kept his eyes shut. "Course you can Vivvy baby, I'm just saying."
Vivian grumbled once more as she shuffled again, finally getting comfy and shutting her eyes.
"Cobras are a family you know." Ace continued to talk. "Clearly a better one than the one you're running from."
"I ain't fucking running." Vivian snapped.
"Sure looks that way to me." Ace mumbled.
Vivian scoffed. "You don't know shit about me."
"I know you wanna take back what he's got." Ace quickly fired out. "And I know you can't do that by yourself."
Vivian was silent again. "Watch me." She snarled out as Ace heard the familiar sound of a threat in her voice.
Whatever it was that he had, whoever he was, clearly meant a lot to her and she was more than determined to get it back. His curiosity ate away at him as he grew more and more desperate to know what it was, and who he was.
"Night then." He mumbled quietly.
"Fuck off Ace." She snapped back quietly.
Ace laughed to himself. "Sweet dreams bitch." He grumbled as he felt himself slowly drift off.
