Ace awoke feeling the regular pounding of his head. Groaning he rolled over and tried to shield his face as the daylight felt like it was burning.
He used his other hand to stretch about as he began to realise this wasn't his own bed.
Panic set in as he thought how he could be in another girls bed. Had he seriously done that?!
He forced his eyes to open as he looked around, Vivian's room?
He scratched his head as he couldn't see her or the baby anywhere. How the fuck had he ended up in her room?!
He got up and slowly began to walk outside.
Vivian and John weren't in the bathroom.
Vivian and John weren't in his room.
He stumbled downstairs, still feeling the effects of the alcohol the night before in his system.
Vivian and John weren't in the living room.
Ace groaned as he felt sick brewing up in his stomach, threatening to come out.
He hobbled into the kitchen as he realised again.
Vivian and John weren't in the kitchen.
He glanced through the back door window as he saw they weren't out there either.
The sick feeling was growing.
He looked down on the counter and saw a small piece of paper and pencil.
'You were right Ace, he needs a dad. Not you.'
Then it came.
Ace pushed the back door open as he felt the alcohol rising.
It burned his throat as he threw up in the garden. Dropping to his knees he clutched his chest as he brought it all up.
"Someone had a fun night?"
He finally managed to stop as he turned slightly, wiping his sweaty head and mouth with his arm.
Alex and Eyeball were walking closer but kept at a distance as they grimaced at him slightly.
"Where the fuck'd you go?" Eyeball asked with a laugh.
Ace shrugged slightly, he could barely remember any of it.
"I'm gonna go say hey to Viv, you can have him." Alex mumbled as he smacked Eyeball on the back and headed inside, completely missing Ace shaking his head.
Eyeball stepped closer to Ace. "You good?" He questioned as Ace continued to shake his head.
Eyeball reached forward and took the paper Ace was waving at him as Ace once again, began to throw up what felt like half his guts.
"Oh..." Eyeball spoke as he glanced between the note and Ace.
"Hey where is she?" Alex asked as he came back out, obviously being unable to find her or the baby in the house.
"Umm..." Eyeball mumbled as he clutched the note to his chest, his eyes drifting down to Ace.
Ace was still on his knees, spitting up whatever he could.
"She gone out or something?" Alex questioned as he looked between the pair. "That from her?" He pointed down at the paper.
Eyeball quickly nodded. "Yeah she just took him out to the shops." He blurted out as quick, not wanting to see Alex dive on Ace.
Alex nodded, seemingly having believed Eyeball. "Oh right fair enough." He glanced back down at Ace, who once again, threw up on the grass. "Let's get you sorted aye." He mumbled as he gave Eyeball a nod and headed back inside.
Eyeball sighed as he quickly shoved the note in his back pocket. Walking over to Ace, he saw his leader fall backwards as he landed on the grass.
Eyeball saw his red watery eyes as he stared down at him. Sighing once more he bent over and tried to help Ace stand up.
"What the fuck did you do?" Eyeball whispered as Ace tried to use him to help him up.
"I don't remember..." Ace managed to mumble out as he looped an arm around Eyeball.
Eyeball held onto his hand as he looped an arm around his waist. He couldn't help but feel worry that Ace had hurt her as he began to lead Ace back into the house.
Alex was waiting with the shower going as the pair helped Ace get up the stairs. They both shoved him into the shower as they let the cold water hit him.
Ace slumped down the wall as the water completely covered him. He brought his knees up as he gently tugged at his hair.
"You really look like shit." Alex mumbled as he looked down at Ace, he'd never known a cobra to look as broken as he did.
Ace didn't reply as he continued to hang his head, tugging at his hair. He couldn't for the life of him remember what happened the night before. Had he actually hurt her? Had he said something? Had he become his dad, abusing his mum while him as the child slept next door?
"Bet Viv found you hilarious." Alex continued with a laugh.
Eyeball tried to force one alongside as he glanced down at Ace. He had seen Ace drunk many times before and he knew what the cobra was like. Ace could be vile after alcohol.
"Why don't we get you sorted and grab some food? Always helps me with hangovers." Alex offered up a smile as he crouched down to Ace.
Ace simply shook his head as he couldn't bring himself to look at Alex. He knew their eyes were the same. Alex had Vivian's eyes. And he couldn't look at them.
Whatever he had done last night, he couldn't. He couldn't face her and he couldn't face her brother.
"Grab him some clothes, I'll get him sorted." Eyeball mumbled at Alex.
Alex nodded and left as Eyeball turned off the water and crouched down in front of his best friend.
"Did you hit her?" He whispered.
Ace shrugged.
"Did you force anything?"
Ace shrugged again as he finally looked up at Eyeball.
"I don't remember... I could have done anything." Ace's words fell from his mouth as he continued to tug at his hair.
"You need to find her." Eyeball ordered at him. "You need to find her before her brother does and figure out what the fuck you did and fix it."
Ace shook his head as the water flew off him.
"Help me..." He whispered as he looked up at Eyeball.
Eyeball sighed as he nodded, his hand went out and gently held Ace's arm, right over their tattoo. If Ace wasn't strong enough then he would be.
"I got you." He whispered just as Alex came back in and helped Eyeball pull Ace to his feet, who was still unable to actually look at Alex.
