Vivian spent the night in and out of sleep as she heard the faint breathing of Ace in the cell opposite her. Though he finally soon awoke but before he could begin bugging her once more, the door to the cells opened. Vivian was expecting it to be their breakfast but was surprised when the officer came in empty handed.

"Come on Merrill, you made bail." He sighed. "As always."

Vivian sat up straight and watched as Ace stood up and walked closer to the door.

"I ain't going without the girl." He spoke as the officer opened his cell door.

He scoffed and shook his head. "You're going Merrill. Without the girl."

Vivian watched as Ace stepped back and sat back down on his cot, arms crossed over his chest. The officer laughed and looked over to her.

"The hell you done with this guy?" He asked with a laugh.

Vivian glared at him as she spat her response. "Fuck all." She snapped.

The officer turned back to Ace. "Come on Merrill, one minute we'd struggling to get you in here now we're struggling to get you out."

Ace shrugged his comment off. "The girl comes too."

The officer sighed loudly. "Ace, she ain't going nowhere with you!"

Ace leant back against the wall and crossed his feet over each other. "Then I ain't fucking going."

Another officer soon joined them, hearing his colleagues loud shouts.

"Whats going on?" He questioned with a raised eyebrow as he saw the open cell door, yet Ace Merrill was remaining sat in his cell.

"He says he ain't leaving without her." The other officer answered as he waved his arm towards Vivian's cell.

The arriving officer looked over at Vivian. "The hell you done to him?"

Vivian snapped. Jumping up she stormed over to her cell door and glared at them.

"I ain't fucking done nothing! Not fucking planning to! So just get rid of his annoying ass and fuck off!" She shouted at them, her fists clenching tighter around the bars.

Their heads slunk back slightly at her outburst as they both turned to look down at Ace, who sat there with a big smirk on his face.

"Ain't she great?" He asked sarcastically.

"Come on Merrill, this is stupid now." The latest officer spoke as he gestured for Ace to get up.

Ace shook his head. "I told you fuckers, I ain't moving till you unlock her cell door and she walks outta here with me." He said as he shrugged, keeping his arms crossed.

The officers looked back at her as she fired death glares at him. Her gaze turned to the officers.

"You let me out with him and I'll chop his dick off before shoving it down his throat."

The officers looked back down at Ace, surprised and confused about his attempt to pursue a girl's freedom, when she clearly wanted him dead.

"I like her." Ace said with a smile as he remained seated.

"Ace..." one of the officers said as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "I never thought I'd say this but get the hell out of the cell."

Ace nodded towards Vivian's cell. "Unlock hers."

The officers looked over at Vivian, who was still clinging to her cell bars, glaring at both officers.

"Open my cell door and I'll kill him slowly." She spat out.

"Not a bad idea." One of the officers muttered under his breath.

Ace sighed as he stood up, walking to the bars but refusing to step out the cell. He placed a hand on the bars and looked over at Vivian.

"You wanna get out and do that thing we discussed earlier or not?" He bit at the girl.

Vivian turned her glare to him.

"I fucking told you already I don't need your help."

Ace turned to the officers. "There see? She admitted it."

They looked between the cobra and the girl confused.

"Admitted what Merrill?" One sighed out as he was getting annoyed, dealing with these two when he had paperwork to do.

"She needs my help."

The officers laughed slightly as they shook their heads. Ace turned to them.

"Fine. You want her information?"

They looked at him blankly, what did he know? Vivian's glare turned nasty.

"Don't you fucking dare." She snarled out at him.

Ace gave her a big grin before turning to the officers. "You wanna know? She's called Rachel, ran away from an abusive boyfriend, he's got all her stuff still so she wants help going and getting it back before making a new life for herself here in this wonderful little town." Ace finished as he waved his arms around.

The officers slowly turned to her.

"Is that true?" One asked.

Vivian's daggers disappeared as her gaze on Ace softened. He hadn't told. She saw him raise his eyebrows at her.

"Well Rachel?" He asked, putting a small hint of emphasis on her fake name.

Vivian turned to the officers. "It's true." She mumbled.

Ace turned to them cockily. "Now you gonna let her out? She only lashed out at your officers because after 6 years with such an abusive male she panicked. Right love?" Ace asked as he turned back to her.

Vivian was almost stunned into silence but she turned to the officers and nodded. "It's true."

One of the officers scoffed slightly. "You're scared of abusive males yet you wanna leave with Merrill?" He asked in disbelief.

"What better way to protect yourself from any nasty ex's than with me?" Ace scoffed out in response.

The officers glanced at each other. Neither knew what to say or how to react.

"We'll check with the boss." One mumbled as the other seemed in shock with his statement.

Their eyes shared a silent conversation as one reached out to re-lock Ace's cell door. Ace just shrugged.

"I wouldn't worry. I told you, I ain't fucking leaving without her." He mumbled as he nodded over at Vivian. "And that you can tell your boss."

The officers gave each other a silent look again as they both slowly left, letting the door close behind them.

"I told you I don't need no fucking help." Vivian snapped at Ace the moment the door shut.

Ace laughed. "You're welcome for covering for your arse, telling them a mass load of bullshit and getting you out of here so you can get whatever the fuck it is back from whoever the fuck it is."

Vivian bit her tongue, he had covered for her. She saw the smirk appear on his face.

"You did wanna get out of here right?"

Vivian continued to glare at him but it wasn't as harsh as before. "Yes." She snapped.

Ace nodded slowly as he leant forward on the bars.

"Then you're welcome Vivvy baby."
