Ace and Vivian walked along slowly. Neither knew what to say as they fell into a comfortable pace.

Ace couldn't help the small glances down at her as she was almost trying to look everywhere but at him.

"Why didn't you take the shot?" He finally asked as he could stand the silence no longer.

Vivian sighed slightly as she slowly looked up at him.

"Why didn't you take the shot?" She fired his own question back at him.

Ace brought a hand up and scratched the back of his neck. "I did, just missed."

Vivian couldn't hide the small smile on her face.

"You're such a bullshiter Merrill."

Ace shrugged slightly as they finally reached his house. "Joys of being me aye." He laughed slightly.

Vivian slowly nodded as Ace let them both inside. She looked around as she felt the familiar wave of comfort overtake her.

"Drink?" Ace asked quietly as he walked into the kitchen, turning to face her slightly.

Vivian nodded slowly as she watched him lean against the counter, waving his hand about.

"Get what you want then." He mumbled.

"Well aren't you a right charmer." Vivian replied sarcastically as she grabbed a glass and poured herself a glass of water.

"Proper ladies man me." Ace laughed with a wink.

Vivian couldn't help but laugh as he moved and opened the back door.

She followed him out as she looked about at the various car parts laying everywhere.

"You look fascinated." He said laughing as he watched her mouth open slightly, spinning and walking around looking at them all.

She shrugged slightly as her attention fell on the truck they'd sat on that first night she stayed. Ignoring his comment she walked over as she climbed up and soon sat down, leaning back against the glass.

Ace walked over slowly as he rested his arms on the bed of the truck and leant forward.

"Comfy?" He asked with a small laugh.

Vivian nodded as a big grin came to her face.

"You're gonna ruin that dress you know?" Ace asked as he finally climbed up and went to sit next to her.

Their arms pressed up against each other as Vivian shrugged slightly, looking down at the dress. It had puffed up, having many skirt layers. She reached down and grabbed it as she flapped it on her legs.

"It's not exactly my thing." She mumbled.

Ace nodded in agreement as his eyes trailed up and down her body covered in the slightly puffy dress.

"Just makes me feel kinda exposed." Vivian mumbled as she rubbed her hands up and down her bare arms. The dress being strapless didn't help.

Ace held up a hand as he quickly got up, jumping down off the truck he jogged back up to the house.

"The fuck are you going?!" Vivian snapped but he ignored her as he disappeared back in the house.

"Fucking arsehole." Vivian mumbled as she gently drank from her glass before tilting her head back and staring up at the sky.

She was jolted from her daydream as Ace rejoined her on the car. She looked down at his hands as sat down, right by her side.

"What-" Vivian started but stopped as Ace ignored her.

She watched as he gently covered her bare, bruised and battered legs with a blanket before nodding his head to her, gesturing for her to lean forward.

Vivian slowly leant forward as he shook out what looked like a shirt before draping it over her back. She quietly slid her arms though as the long sleeves covered her also bare, bruised and battered arms.

In silence Ace brought his hands round and slowly buttoned each of the buttons up, as it covered up the bruises on her shoulders.

His hands slowly rested on the last button as he did it up before looking straight into her eyes.

"Better?" He asked quietly.

Vivian couldn't help but notice how close their heads were as her eyes drifted down to his lips. Nodding slowly she felt the air get sucked from her as he shuffled back to sitting by her side.

"Good." He mumbled as he brought his knee up, letting his arm rest on it.

"Thank you... left my jacket back at the bar..." Vivian mumbled as she stayed focused on him.

He shrugged it off slightly as she looked away and took another drink.

The pair fell into a small silence as once again, neither felt like they could face the other, yet neither wanted the other to leave.

"I take it that's Alex's girlfriend's dress?" Ace finally asked, he hated the silence between them. He'd rather have her screaming, shouting and swearing at him than not hear her.

Vivian nodded slowly. "She's kinda nice I guess." She mumbled as her mind turned to Elizabeth. "Very girly and fancy though, the high class kinda girl."

"Prude." Ace responded.

Vivian laughed but gently nudged him. "I wouldn't know."

"She catholic?" He questioned.

Vivian nodded slowly as Ace nodded in response.

"She's a prude."

Vivian pulled a shocked face. "And how the hell would you know?"

Ace tilted his head to her and raised his eyebrow. Vivian quickly shook her head.

"Never mind, stupid question."

Ace nodded slowly, agreeing. "What are you?" He questioned, having a small idea but not being certain.

"Protestant." Vivian mumbled as she gave him a small side eye glance, noticing the growing smirk on his face as he nodded.

"Interesting." He mumbled as he brought his hand to his face, trying desperately and failing to remove the smirk.

Vivian forced a laugh. "Oh I bet it is Merrill."

Ace couldn't help but laugh with her as he shook his head.

"It was an honest question!" He defended.

"With honest intentions?" She snapped as she crossed her arms over her chest, the smell of him hitting her as his shirt covered her more.

"You want the truth or a lie?" Ace asked as he gave up trying to hide the smirk on his face.

"You're fucking disgusting!" She snapped as she laughed and uncrossed her arms to shove him.

"Bitch please, you're thinking about it too! I ain't fucking stupid." He defended himself again.

Vivian sighed as she shook her head, leaning it back to look up at the sky.

"Shut up Merrill." She mumbled.

Ace shook his head as he, too, leant his head back to look up at the sky.

"Now why would I give you the satisfaction of that?"
