Bones (scenario thingie requested by @emeraldcity221B )

As you tapped at the cold glass of the window, excitement bustled behind you and the pop of a champagne bottle echoed through the house. It was the end of the five year mission, and a group of the Enterprise crew had gathered together at the captain's house in Iowa to celebrate. You stood away from the window and looked round the room of happy people. Jim was pouring the fizzing drink into the glasses and Uhura and Spock stood next to him. Scotty was already a little drunk, having an argument with Chekov about scotch and vodka as Sulu stood beside them laughing. Across in the corner, Bones sent a small smile your way and waved you over with his hand. You stood beside and grinned up at his tall figure.
"What did you see out the window?" Bones smiled.
"A storm, and a pretty bad one by the looks of it." He nodded. "You're smiling a lot tonight," you continued, watching him grin again.
"I'm glad to be back here," he shrugged. "It's good to be back."
You nodded, "I can't believe we survived five years in space."
"Especially with him as captain," he muttered, pointing towards Jim.
You let out a laugh and gently nudged his side. You both knew there was a little more than friendship between you and everybody joked about it. But you had never been a real couple or ever been on a proper date or anything. You spent a lot of time together over the five year mission, and the worst of the times brought you closer but for now you could only really refer to him as your friend.

As you listened to Jim's retelling of one of your adventures on his battered couch with a glass of champagne in your hand, the sky rattled loudly and rain started to patter down on the house. You looked at Bones with your classic 'I told you so' look and he silently acknowledged it with a nod. Jim continued his story and a few minutes later another clap of thunder followed by a white flash filled the room. Your grip on the glass tightened and you moved closer to a Bones. Jim looked around and placed his glass on the ground. The rain increased and he started shutting some of the open windows around him.
"Pretty bad storm," he muttered amongst the other chattering. One more flash stopped the chattering and you put your own glass down, looking concerned at Bones. It had been five years since you'd even seen rain, yet alone been in a storm. You helped Jim with the windows and just before you closed it, a little orange ball caught your eye. The dark made it hard to see but you could make out the shaper of the ginger cat, licking its paw placidly under the tree.

"Jim it's a cat," you called out, stepping away from the window and motioning him over with your hand.
"Sh*t that's Jingles!" He called out, walking towards the front door, opening it. The wind blew some of the now torrential rain into his face.
"Come here you stupid cat!" He yelled, tapping his shins to get her attention.
Another bolt of lightning flashed through the sky and one of the large oak trees next to Jim's house made a massive cracking sound, and one of the branches, just above the cat dropped down towards it, and tilted it towards the unsuspecting cat. You gasped in horror and sprinted into the rain towards the cat and grabbed it in one swift motion, cradling it's struggling body in your arms and moving quickly back towards the house. You heard another crack and looked up as the tree bench fell towards you. You tried to move but your body was frozen in horror and all you could up do was crouch down, covering the cat as the branch fell.
You heard your name through the rain, instantly recognising the voice as Leo's. Your mind kicked back into motion and you felt the branch pinning your leg, and the cat still beside you. People gathered around you and a you passed the cat to whoever was in front of you in a dazed state. Your vision was foggy but you could see the branch being lifted by a few people and you felt someone pull you out from under the tree and pick you up. You rubbed your eyes and watched the figure, thinking it was Bones. You felt the rain stop pouring over you and the lights of the room made everything easier to see. Bones gently placed you on the lounge.

"Y/N why did you do that?!? You could've died!" He muttered angrily. Someone behind him passed him a towel and a med kit and he started wiping your leg where the branch was. Your leg was badly scraped and had a few cuts varying in size. Your stomach coiled at the sight and you closed your eyes as he poured a strong antiseptic into it. Your whole leg stung and you let out a loud groan.
"You could've died," he muttered again, fiddling around with a hypospray. "I could've lost you!" He placed the hypospray. "You scared the life out of me, (Y/N)" he muttered, softer this time. He put the hypo down and ran his hands through his hair. "I would have never got to tell you..' He trailed off meeting your eyes.
You watched him carefully, "never told me what?"
His eyes had a certain desperation and he bit the inside of his lip.
"I love you (Y/N)" he said softly, placing his hand on your cheek. "I love you," he muttered again. You placed your hand on top of his and smiled at him. Your smile broke into a grin and you giggled. "I love you, I love you too Leo," you laughed, watching the smile spread across his face. You gripped his hand tighter and closer your eyes happily. You opened them again and stared into his eyes. He leaned in close to you and you slowly closed your eyes, as his lips pressed tightly against yours. Your hand hooked around his neck and your lips started to move with his. You felt yourself melt around him and the whole world disappeared. You both slowly pulled away and he wrapped his hands around you. "I love you," he whispered into your neck squeezing you a little. "I've been dying to tell you, I just didn't want to ruin our friendship or anything. I've wanted to tell you for so long."
"I love you Leo, I always have," you whispered into his ear, grilling him as tightly as you could.
He let go of you and placed a kiss on your forehead. There was a soft 'awww' echoing behind you and you looked around seeing everyone standing there watching. Your face quickly reddened and you looked away, coving your face. There were a few soft laugh and Leo smiled at you, gently nudging your side like earlier. Jim placed the cat gently on your lap and smiled.
"Thank you for saving her," he grinned, patting the cat gently. "The branch fell right where it was sitting. I'm sorry you got hurt."
You laughed, "trust me, I really don't mind."
