Montgomery Scott was always telling you and Keenser to get down from places, but for just this once, he joined you. The engine room hummed quietly and Scotty talked softly to you about the time the Captain tried to hide the ship on the bottom of the ocean and how ridiculous it was. You listened to his thick accent and sway your feet back and forth along the bottom of the pipe. Keenser had left earlier to get lunch, leaving you two alone for the first time in just about forever. As he was talking, he always seemed to have something in his hands, and at the moment it was a small tool, he moving it back and forth between his fingers, but accidentally dropped it to the floor below. He shrugged and kept talking, tapping his fingers on the pipe. He stopped his talking for a second and looked at you, in a different way than he normally. He fingers wrapped around a small piece of your hair and he asked, "May I?" You giggled and nodded, as he continued to play with you hair smiling. He twirled you hair around and ran it through his fingers gently. You were trying so hard not to melt into a puddle right before him.

He laughed and stopped talking. "Scotty can I tell you something?" You asked, your pulse rapidly rising. He let go of your hair and readjusted himself on the pipe. "Anything lass," he answers, as you turned yourself to face him. "I - I like you Scotty, a lot..." You trailed off looking away. You felt a warm hand take yours and he smiled softy at you. "You have no idea how long I've been wanting to hear that." He took your other hand and grinned. "You wanna be my girlfriend Lassie?" he asked swinging your hands softly, and you nodded, giggling crazily. "Lassie just one more thing?" he asked. "Anything," you smiled. He let go of one of your hands and looked down. "How are we gonna get down?"
