✴︎Chekov✴︎
In school they always told you to get your head out of the clouds and concentrate, but once you became a Starfleet officer, the clouds was both the metaphorical and literal place that your head stayed.
It was one of those mornings where he lingered constantly in your mind. Everything about him made you lovesick and smiley. His soft curly hair, his sweet accent and his adorable innocent eyes. Your mind continued to wonder, completely oblivious to all the fuss around you. You sat there, just smiling thinking about him. He was one of those people that just made you happy by just existing.
A few minutes later, you barely even realised it, but he came and sat down across from you.
"Oh, Chekov!" You smiled softly. You were so happy to see him, and the smile on his face probably meant the same thing.
"I actually wanted to ask you something," he said, his voice slowing and his face becoming the slightest bit redder. You urged him on, silently crossing your fingers under the table. He looked over his shoulder at one of the far tables at Kirk, who was smirking wildly, and nodding his head encouraging him. You smiled, his eyebrows were knitting together and you swear it was the cutest thing you'd ever seen.
He stumbled over his words a bit, and turned back to Kirk again who gestured for him to keep trying. He sighed and muttered to himself something in his native language. You rolled your eyes, asking yourself what he was doing and what was going on. He took another deep breath and looked you right in the eye. "Vill you... Ahh..." He started, not being able to finish his sentence. He hung his head and put his hand shyly behind his neck, and avoided eye contact.
With a frustrated look, Kirk walked over and sat next to Chekov. "Hey, listen this kid had been trying to work up the courage to ask you out somewhere, and he's just obviously too shy, so I will do it for him. Will you go out on a date with him?" Kirk breathed out with a satisfied and slightly frustrated sigh.
Chekov looked up at you and smiled apologetically.
You shrugged, "Sure where are we going?"
Chekov lit up. "Oh really, you mean it?"
You nodded and he smiled happily at Kirk, who just rolled his eyes. He muttered something about 'kids these days' and left you alone with him.
"Sorry," he mumbled, "I can't seem to think clearly vhen I'm around you..."
You sighed silently at how adorable he and his accent were. "Don't worry about it, I'm quite the same." He turned around and gave you another soft smile. "You're adorable," you muttered to him, just to watch his face redden a touch again. You stood up and followed the adorable Russian out of the room, and to wherever he was shyly taking you.
