Bones

He was so calm around you, like as soon as you were near someone had drugged him. Everybody thought he was grumpy and intimidating, but you knew better than that, he was just stressed, being a doctor was a stressful job. You can remember that night perfectly, you weren't dating at the time like you are now, but you were just in your room, catching up on some reports when he came knocking at your door. "It's open!" You called out, not taking your eyes off the device. He was silent when he came in, and you were fairly shocked to see him. "Bones? Are you alright?" You asked, his face had lost some colour and he looked exhausted. His eyes were distant, not focusing on anything in particular and bloodshot. "What happened?" You whispered softly. He shook his head, "I lost a patient today... She was only eight years old..." You took a deep breath, and swallowed, at a loss of what to say. You shook your head sadly, putting your hand on the side of his face. Words escaped you, you'd read that some doctors became seriously depressed after loosing their first patient. You decided you didn't need words, and wrapped your arms around him. He was so much taller than you, so you'd head rested on his chest rather than his shoulder. "It's not your fault, these things happen Bones..." You muttered, rubbing your hands along his back, to try and comfort him. His grip around you was tight, and it was getting harder to breath. He let go and you looked up at him. "Come sit down," you said pulling him next to you onto your bed. You sat down with him, wrapping your arms around him and laying on his chest. "It's not your fault Leo," you told him, stroking his chin. "She was so little and so young, the light just left her eyes and she went cold..." You kissed his cheek, a gesture that shocked him considering that you weren't officially dating him. He blushed but smiled and your eyes met again. You leant on closer to him, not quite sure what was happening. Your eyes closed, and hi soft lips pressed against yours. You both pulled away, eyes slowly opening. He smiled like the Southern gentleman you knew he was, and you returned it, giggling. "Feel better?" you asked, already knowing the answer. "Yeah, thanks..." he mummbled. "Would you like consider yourself my girlfriend?" He asked, smiling slightly. You nodded enthusiastically and leant your head back onto his chest. His arm slid around you waist and though you couldn't see it, you could tell he was smiling slightly.
