I just moved to Salt Lake City a few weeks ago, and was starting school today. After my dad died, my mom just couldn't stand to live where died, so here we are in this miniscule town. I really dislike school, but maybe a fresh start will be good for me. After all, High School Musical was filmed here so this town can't be that bad...right?

My mom dropped me off at school as I started to find my classes. I must've looked very confused because a girl approached me and said, "hi, are you new here?"

"Yeah, is it that obvious?" I laughed.

She laughed as well, "no, not at all! This is just a tiny school, and I've never seen you before. I'm Nini!"

"Nice to meet you Nini, I'm Y/N!" I said shaking her hand.

"Do you need help finding your classes and stuff?"

"If you wouldn't mind that would be so great, thank you."

"Of course!" She said, looking at my schedule. She walked me to my first class, and said, "here it is! Here's my number if you need any more help, just text me."

"Thanks again Nini, you are so sweet." I said.

"Not a problem!" She said, walking to her class.

It was a very long first 4 hours, but it was finally time for lunch.

"Y/N!" Nini said, waving me over to her lunch table. I sighed with relief. I did not want to sit alone.

"Hey, Nini! Do you guys mind if I sit here?" I asked.

"Not at all." Nini said, as the others agreed. Nini introduced everyone at the table. There was Nini, Kourtney, Ricky, and Big Red. Ricky and Nini are dating.

"It's nice to meet you all." I smiled. After a while, they started talking about the musical at the school. They are doing High School Musical. That's ironic. Ricky and Nini have been cast as Troy and Gabriella. I think I would enjoy doing the musical, but maybe I'll do costumes or props or something because it has obviously already been cast.

"Do you think I could do something with the musical?" I asked, "I love High School Musical."

Kourtney grinned, "JOIN MAKEUP CREW!! We need more people, please please please Y/N. Your makeup is so pretty."

"That sounds fun! Yeah, I'll do that."

Kourtney replied, "yayy!! Come with us to rehearsal today."

After 3 more classes I met up with Kourtney, Nini, Ricky, and Big Red to go to the rehearsal.

"Thanks for taking me along today, and being so friendly. It's nice to have people like you guys when you go to a new school." I smiled.

"Of course!!" Kourtney said as we entered the auditorium. Let me just say-it was BEAUTIFUL. I was completely awestruck.

I spent the afternoon learning some basics about stage makeup from the master, Kourtney, watching Nini and Ricky have INSANE chemistry on stage, meeting ms. Jenn, and seeing this really cute guy. He plays Chad, and gosh, I could not get my eyes off of him. I would even catch him looking at me sometimes. Kourtney caught me staring at him on stage instead of listening and she said, "that's ej. You should talk to him. He's single." She grinned.

"No, no, no. I don't like him." Or do I? After my dad died, I've been so scared to love anyone again because one second they'll be there and the next - gone...
