*Y/N POV*

I'll just say it. I'm deaf. And it's really hard to meet people. They don't understand I'm deaf, and that I can't really form words. They don't understand sign language. It's hard.

I was in the cafeteria sitting with my friends, all who have learned to sign because of me, as someone came up to me. EJ Caswell. He waved to me and I read his lips. He said, 'hi' with a smile. He sat down next to me.

I stopped eating for a minute and then signed out of habit, 'hi! I'm Y/N.'

The next thing he did surprised me. EJ Caswell, the sweetest, most popular and talented guy at East high...can sign.

He signed back, 'nice to meet you Y/N! I'm EJ.'

'You can sign?'

'No, I'm just guessing.' He joked 'yes I can sign.'

'If you don't mind me asking, why do you know how to sign?'

'Oh, my mom is deaf too, so I've been signing since I was little.'

'Oh. Cool.' I grinned.

'Do you want to hang out sometime Y/N?'

'Really? Sure, I would love to!'

'Cool, cool. I'm going to go back to my table.' He signed, laughing a little.

I didn't realize someone that cute could be that thoughtful.

~6 months later~

My boyfriend was coming over and I had something very special to tell him today. I went to hug him and I kissed his cheek, 'hey!'

'Hey lovely.' He signed back. We sat down on the couch. We turned on a movie, with captions of course, and I cuddled next to him.

Once the movie was over I looked into his eyes, 'ej?'

'What's up, y/n?'

'I love you.' That was the first time I had ever said that to him.

He grinned at me, 'I love you too.'

'You're perfect.'

'No, you're perfect.'

I kissed him on the lips. 'Thanks for being amazing, ej.'

He kissed me again, 'No problem.' He grinned.
