"AHHH I'M SO EXCITED!!!" Nini shrieked while curling my hair.

I jumped, "geez, Neens, you're going to burn my scalp."

"Beauty is pain." Kourtney chuckled, adjusting her red dress.

I rolled my eyes. Almost all my friends had dates to homecoming. Kourtney and Howie. Nini and Ricky. Ashlyn and Big Red. And then there was me and Gina. The single ladies. I honestly don't care that much, and I'm only going to the dance because my friends are making me.

Totally not because I might see ej there.

Okay maybe a little because of that, but I just want to have a fun time with my friends. Totally 7th wheeling their dates!! Super fun!! Nothing wrong with that!

Everything's wrong with that.

"Earth to y/n." Nini groaned.

"What?" I asked, agitated, snapping out of my trance.

"You totally just left the universe. Were you daydreaming about ej?" She smirked.

"OooOooo." The girls all giggled.

"I'm still mad he didn't ask you out." Ashlyn groaned.

I rolled my eyes and smacked Nini in the arm, "we're friends, okay!"

"Yeah, friends who make out."

"He has zero feelings for me. He likes Jessica Martino." I spit.

"Ew, Jessica Martino." The girls groaned. Everyone hates her. Fake tan, fake eyelashes, probably fake boobs. Oh, and, I can't forget about her beautiful fake personality!

"Ugh, Jessica Martino is a bitc-" Kourtney started.

Nini, being the girl's girl she is interrupted before Kourtney could finish, "I think that Jessica Martino is gorgeous, but Jessica Martino is not the one for EJ, and I'm sure you'll be very happy when we see him at pictures."

"Wait, what?" I turned to face Nini.

"He's part of the boys' group." Neen smirked again.

"You're kidding."

"Why would I lie about this?" Nini giggled.

"I don't know, you're kinda rude sometimes." I shrugged and turned back around with a grin.

"Ok, you know what..." She rolled her eyes. She finished my hair, and brushed it out. "You're so gorgeous," she started singing the Taylor Swift song."

We all joined in with her and headed out to Gina's car. I called shotgun, and we hopped in and headed to the park. Once we got there I saw EJ in his suit with an emerald green tie almost the exact shade as my emerald green dress. Huh. I went over to him where he grinned, "wow, l/n you look great."

I giggled as he spun me, "not too bad yourself, Caswell."

We took a ton of pictures: group pictures, couples, girls, and duos. And finally, we were done.

"Let's get a pic, y/n." Ej gestured me over to where he was standing.

"Okay." I walked over, and he wrapped his arm around me as we smiled for the picture.

I think I actually died. He is acting so strange. I would say that he likes me but Gina would call me delusional.

We headed to dinner at Olive Garden where EJ and Nini sat next to me, but Nini was mainly talking to Ricky and occasionally winking at me. So, that just left EJ to talk to. And that was perfectly fine with me.

Finally, we got to the dance...thirty minutes late, but that's not the point. I danced with my friends for a while, but when the slow songs were on, I didn't know what to do. I danced with Gina for some but eventually a guy named Jack asked her to dance. She obviously checked with me before and he was gorgeous so I didn't want to hold her back. The next slow song, Perfect by Ed Sheeran, came on and I headed over to our table to sit down. EJ smiled and came over, "so...you don't like slow songs?"

I rolled my eyes, "I'm fine with slow songs, but I don't think slow songs like me."

"And why's that?" EJ smirked.

"Because I don't have a date, and all my friends do, so I will dance with my fruit punch until Ed shuts up," I groaned.

"Well, you could always dance with me." Ej smiled.

"Oh?" I pondered.

He stuck his hand out, and led me over to the floor when the song ended. And just my luck, they only played fast songs for the rest of the night.

But ej and I danced to them anyway. And we had a great time. "You know, I've liked you for a while, yn. I was too nervous to ask you to this," EJ said loudly over 'You Belong With Me'.

"Really?" I asked, confused. I would have never thought.

"Of course. Nini told me what dress you were wearing so I could match." He grinned.

I put my arms around him in an embrace, "you know, if you would've asked I would've said yes."

"Good to know." ej smiled. "For...um...future reference."
