Background: Rini isn't dating yet and Nini is not interested in a Ricky

*ej pov*
I sit next to Ricky, Y/n, and Nini in my Lit class, and they are my friend group in that class. We're all seniors.

"Stay away from my girl!" Ricky approached me as I was walking to the parking lot to my car after school.

I turned around and furrowed my eyebrows, "bro, who? Y/n?"

"No, Nini! She obviously had a crush on you!" He said, angrily.

I rolled my eyes and continued to walk to my car. He groaned and followed me, "so?? Do you like Nini??"

I unlocked my car and scoffed, "No, Ricky. I don't. She's like a sister to me. That's actually gross."

He laughed, "good." He took a pause and said, "well, anyways, I would never like y/n. She's nice, but kinda ugly." *sorry y/n, you're not ugly :(*

"Bro-what?? She's so pretty!"

Ricky gasped, "Wait, do you like her?"

My voice went up about a million octaves, "whAAAAt??? NoOoooOoo." My voice cracked. I changed the topic, "YOU LIKE NINI?!?!?"

He rolled his eyes, "yes, I do."

I taunted him for a minute until I said, "okay, bro. I'm gonna go. I've got about a million tests tomorrow."

"Same. Wait, ej?"

"Yeah?" I said hopping into my car, and putting my sunglasses on.

"I think you should tell y/n. That you like her, I mean. I think she likes you too." He smiled.

"REALLY??" I practically screeched.

"Yes." He laughed a little.

"If you tell Nini, I'll tell y/n." I stuck my hand out of the window.

He shook it, and smiled, "it's a deal."

2 days later

"Hey-uh-y/n, can I talk to you?" I stuttered. It was lunch, and I found y/n's table. This was it! I'm gonna confess!

"Yeah...yeah, sure." She smiled and followed me to my car. I leaned on it awkwardly as she chuckled and said, "what's up?"

"Uhm...this is..." I laughed a little, "okay, so I like you."

She raised her eyebrows, "you do?"

I smiled, "I do."

She hugged me and said, "I like you too, ej!"

"You do?!?!?!"

"I do!!!" She grinned.

We walked back inside with stupid grins on our faces. I walked back to my lunch table and I saw Ricky. I asked him about his confession, "how'd it go??"

"What? Oh, yeah. She rejected me." He shrugged.

I frowned, "oh sorry, dude."

"That's alright. I've got my eye on Lindsay over there, anyways."

I rolled my eyes. Ricky's quite the player.

"You do you, bro." I said with a scoff.

"Oh, so how'd it go with y/n?"

"She likes me too."

He laughed, "good job, ej."

"Thanks, Rick."
