Background
EJ Caswell and Y/n L/n auditioned for Oklahoma. EJ was cast as Curly, and y/n is Laurey. These two characters are love interests, but act as if they don't like each other. EJ and y/n started dating a little bit before the auditions, but didn't tell anyone so it wouldn't affect the casting, or seem like it did. They also didn't want people to think they just like each other because they are in love in the show. A lot of people think they do like each other though. They still act as if they don't like each other at rehearsal and school. Today, they were blocking the song People Will Say We're in Love. It's basically the story of ej and y/n.

The music started playing as I prepared myself and started singing.

"Why do they think up stories that link my name with yours?" I sang.

"Why do the neighbors gossip all day behind their doors?" EJ sang, smiling a little.

"I know a way to prove what they say is quite untrue. Here is the gist, a practical list of don'ts for you: Don't throw bouquets at me. Don't please my folks too much. Don't laugh at my jokes too much."

"Who laughs at your jokes?" He contradicted, smirking.

I rolled my eyes softly, continuing, "People will say we're in love. Don't sigh and gaze at me. Your sighs are so like mine. Your eyes mustn't glow like mine. People will say we're in love. Don't start collecting things. Give me my rose and my glove. Sweetheart, they're suspecting things. People will say we're in love." I finished, smiling at him.

"Some people claim that you are to blame as much as I. Why do you take the trouble to bake my favorite pie? Grantin' your wish I carved our initials on that tree." He gestured to a set tree. "Just keep a slice of all the advice ya give so free. Don't praise my charm too much. Don't look so vain with me. Don't stand in the rain with me. People will say we're in love. Don't take my arm too much. Don't keep your hand in mine." He said, taking my hand. "Your hand feels so grand in mine. People will say we're in love. Don't dance all night with me. 'Til the stars fade from above. They'll see it's all right with me. People will say we're in love" He finished giving me a small smile.

EJ and I smiled at each other and went offstage.

We finished the rehearsal and EJ and I walked out together. Holding hands. No one really noticed, but it was cute. Even if they did, we're already cast. It's okay.

"Hey guys!" The sophomore assistant director yelled, chasing us. We immediately let go of our hands out of habit.

"Hey, Kylie! What's up?" I responded, turning around to look at her. I could tell she was nervous. We're seniors and she's a sophomore.

"Uh...you guys left really fast after rehearsal, but Mrs. E (the director) wanted me to tell you guys that the chemistry was great today, and you're doing really well. She's texting out notes tonight."

I smiled as ej nodded, "okay, thanks Kylie!"

She smiled back as she ran back inside, "no problem!"

"She's scared of us." EJ said when she was out of sight.

I laughed grabbing his hand again, "no, she's scared of you."

"Fine-fair. Who would be scared of you, you're like 5 foot 1."

I tried not to smile, "YOU-" I said as he ran to his car and I chased him.

"LOVE YOU!!" He yelled.

"LOVE YOU TOO." I yelled as I continued chasing him.
