″Why do you think I have any witch in me?″

″Because I can sense it and you're very powerful if you open it up and use it correctly.″

″I am not opening up that magic over my dead body. How do you even know about my grandfather?″

″Your mother has a big mouth, and I knew of him. He wasn't the best person and dark magic changes a person.″

″Of course she does, so you're saying I have dark magic inside of me.″

″Unfortunately, yes, but you can do whatever you want with it. Just be careful and don't tell anyone else about what I told you. Eugene knows because I told him after I came here and healed you. I am surprised he did not sense it in you, but then again, Eugene does not use dark magic like me.″

″I am sure there are people who want him dead because of what he is.″

″Yes, the king of werewolves. He escaped before they could find him. He has been through a lot since that day. I am sure he will open up one day to you about it.″

″I not sure about this whole mate thing just yet. I have always been independent and not needing someone else help unless I really need it.″

″He is your other half for a reason. Don't doubt that bond. I wish I had someone made for me, but witches don't get mates.″

″Does the king know he is alive?″

″Not sure, but he will know soon.″

″What do you mean, soon?″

″Ask Eugene about it. I am leaving today to go home to my coven. Good luck Alina.″

Would I be a target as well if they ever find out I am also a hybrid? I am still conflicted about him. Would it be a bad idea to open this magic inside of me? I am not sure what to do about it. What happens if it stays locked away for too long? Will it destroy me from the inside out, or would I be able to handle this magic on my own? My wolf has said nothing about this, and I wonder why.

I feel those strange tingles once again, meaning he is behind me and he probably heard our conversation as well. Great.

″Did you get something to eat yet?″

I look up and see guilt all over his face. He must be upset at himself for the way he acted. I still don't know how to act around him. He makes my inside go all haywire.

″No, I was talking to that witch that healed me. She said something that kind of got me a little worried, but I'm sure I can figure it out on my own.″

″I guess she said you have magic inside of you locked away?″

″Yes, and I am just trying to soak all this shit in that I have dealt with since I have been home.″

″Go for a run Alina. I won't stop you from doing anything unless it puts you in danger.″

″We need to talk about me becoming head warrior, since that is what my pack is known for, and I have trained my whole life for.″

″It's yours if you want it, but what about your Luna duties?″

″Austin is still technically the Alpha, so right now I am not a Luna, only a warrior. Until he gives up his title, you're just a wolf who attacked our pack. I have not agreed to be your mate either and it will be a long time before I can trust you, sorry.″

He had a frown on his face, but I can tell that he understands where I am coming from.

″I understand, and I will wait until the day you decide to be with me. I am not going to force you to do anything you don't want to do.″ I mouth a thank you to him.
