I Choose You(Ness x Reader)

I was walking home from school with my best friend, Paula Polestar. We were just talking about all that happened today and the difficult test we took in Math class.

"I'm not sure I passed this one..."

"Aw, have a little more faith in yourself, (Y/N). I'm sure you did fine." Paula smiled reassuringly. 

As we passed by other students who were also going home, I heard footsteps running up to us.

It was Ness, who was trying to catch up. "(Y/N)! Paula! How are you??"

I blushed and looked down, while Paula blushed and smiled at Ness. "We're fine, how about you?"

"I'm alright. I just came by to talk a bit."

And he did. He spent most of the walk home talking to us, or rather to Paula. He tried to ask me questions, and I tried to answer, but Paula would just answer for me and divert the conversation back between her and Ness.

After Ness left, Paula got serious. "(Y/N), I've been meaning to ask you something."

"What is it?"

"Do you.. like Ness? I mean, like as a crush."

"Yeah..."

She frowned a bit. "Well, I like Ness too, and I've been meaning to confess to him for a while now."

"Really? When?"

"Tomorrow, at the end of the school day."

Paula looked at me. " I know that you're my best friend and all, but I've known Ness for longer, I really like him, and I'm sure he likes me too, so it'd be nice if you stay away from him."

Back off?? Is she threatening me?

"O-Okay."

Paula smiled and began walking towards her front door. "Good. Bye (Y/N)!"

The next day, Paula and I were walking to school together as usual, talking about whatever came to mind. Once we reached the school building, Ness walked by and waved at us. I pretended not to see him, while Paula waved back.

Paula looked at me seriously. "Remember what I said yesterday, stay away from Ness."

"Okay..."

The rest of the day went by smoothly, and before I knew it, the day was over.

I was sitting alone by the school building, waiting for Paula to confess so we could go home together. I heard footsteps nearby, and I looked up from my book and saw Paula standing over me. Her face was slick with tears, and she was wiping her eyes with the back of her hand.

"Let's go." Her voice was shaky.

I picked up my bag and we began walking home. After a while, I got curious about what happened. I knew Ness rejected her, but was that it? Or did he say something upsetting besides that to make her cry?

I pulled my handkerchief out of my pocket and gave it to her. "Paula, what happened? What did Ness say?"

She wiped her eyes with the handkerchief and gave it back. "Ness said he didn't like me like that, but he also said he already loved another girl too..."

She gave me a disappointed and heartbroken look. "But who does he love instead of me?"

"I don't know."

We were now at the front door of the Polestar Preschool. I really felt bad for Paula and how Ness rejected her, so I decided to be nice. "Feel better, alright? I'll call you later on tonight."

Paula smiled. "Alright, thanks (Y/N)."

 I walked to my home and went inside. No one was home yet, and the house was dead silent.
I was about to go upstairs and take a nap when my phone started ringing.

I fished it out of my bag and pressed 'Answer'. "Hello?"

It was Ness. "Hi (Y/N), are you busy??"

"No, why?"

"Could you come over to my house? I have something to tell you. I'm home alone right now, Mom and Tracy went to go visit a friend."

"Uhh...sure..."

"Alright, see you soon!"

I immediately went to my room to pick out an outfit.

I decided on my (favorite color) sweater, my (black or white) skirt, my (favorite color) long socks and my (white or black) Converse.

I walked all the way to Ness' house and knocked on the door.

Ness opened the door and grinned at me. "Hey (Y/N)! Come in!"

I walked in and after Ness closed the door, he grabbed my hand and led me upstairs to his room.

He closed his door and sat at the chair next to his desk. "You can sit on the bed if you want."

I sat on the bed. "So, what did you want to tell me."

"Well.." Ness took off his hat and ruffled his hair, making me blush. He put his cap on the desk. "Today after school, Paula confessed her feelings to me."

"And what did you do?" 

"I rejected her."

"You did? Why?"

He stood up and walked over to the bed, then took my hand and pulled me up.

"I already love this other girl.. I'm not sure she likes me back though."

My heart sank. "Who is it?"

He put his arms around my waist and pressed his lips on mine. I turned bright red in embarrassment, but I leaned in after a few seconds.

Ness pulled away and blushed. "I love you instead of Paula..."

I smiled and put my arms around Ness' neck. "I love you too Ness."

Ness smiled and leaned in closer to me. I leaned in too, and our lips met again. Ness pulled me closer, and I reached up and began ruffling his hair, which made him moan softly. I felt Ness' tongue touch my lip, asking for entrance. I didn't open my mouth, but then Ness pinched my ear, making me gasp, and he slipped his tongue in. After a few minutes of passionate kissing, we pulled away, leaving a small strand of saliva between our mouths.

Ness smiled and put his hand on my cheek. "Paula's gonna be really mad when she figures out about us."

I nodded.

Ness put his head on my shoulder. " I love you (Y/N)."

I smiled and stroked his hair. "I love you too."
