(Y/N) P.O.V:

Ness and I were sitting on the floor of my empty room in silence. My once vibrant and somewhat messy room was empty, only filled with boxes and boxes of clothing, toys, sketchbooks, and other personal items.

I looked at Ness with a sad look in my eyes. "I'm sorry Ness..."

Ness smiled a little, but the smile dropped after a few seconds. "It's fine. Besides, you said yourself that you didn't want to move."

"Uh-huh...."

My mom came in after a few minutes. "(Y/N), Ness, could you two please load these boxes in the back of the moving truck?"

We both stood up and began loading boxes into the back of the truck. After we were done, I stood on the curb facing Ness.

He smiled reassuringly at me, but I could tell by his sniffling that he was trying hard not to cry. I was already breaking down, with tears sliding quickly down my face.

"I'm going to miss you so much..." I sobbed.

Ness wrapped his arms around my shaking frame. "I will too..."

I hugged him back and cried.

After we pulled away, I cupped his face in my hands. "I promise I'll come back to visit."

Ness wiped his eyes. "Promise?"

I nodded. "Promise."

My mom stuck her head out the window of the car. "Come on (Y/N), let's go!"

I let go of Ness and got in the backseat of the car. "Bye Ness..."

He waved back. "Bye..."

4 Years Later

Ness P.O.V:

I was sitting in class, bored out of my mind. I was just trying not to fall asleep, so I searched through my bag for anything interesting. I pulled out a pin that I got as a gift from (Y/N).

(Y/N)....

4 years ago, my best friend moved away from Onett and moved to Summers. I haven't heard anything from her since. No letters, no calls, nothing. I miss her a lot, but I haven't heard anything from her, so I guess she forgot about me. Or maybe she's busy, after all, we're both seniors in high school now.

"Ness?"

If only I could see her again...I wonder how she's been...

"Ness!" The teacher slammed a hand on my desk, making me jump.

"O-oh! sorry sir! I'm listening! My classmates were laughing, which made me feel even more embarrassed.

"Hmph." The teacher gave everyone else a warning glare, which stopped the laughter, then went back to teaching.

After class, one of my friends from the baseball team came up to me. "Hey Ness, what was on your mind in class today? Whatever it was, it had you locked in."

"Yeah...I was just thinking about an old friend."

He smiled. "Alright. Well, anyways, are ya excited for the baseball game today?

"I guess."

"We'll be playing against our rivals today, so it's a chance to prove ourselves. But you don't need to prove yourself anymore, you already did."

I laughed a little. "What do you mean?"

He smiled mischievously. "You know what I mean. You have a fully paid scholarship for a college in Fourside! You get to play on the baseball team, the Fourside Foppies!"
