Nightmares(Ness x Reader)

Hello readers. I'm going to try something different in this part. I've been writing in (Y/N)'s point of view, but this time I'll try writing from Ness's point of view. Enjoy!

I was going to visit a friend in Summers with my childhood friend, (Y/N). The trip's been pretty okay so far, with us having chill conversations and just enjoying our time outside. Eventually, it began getting dark, so I suggested we stop at a hotel for the night. I booked a room using the money Dad sent me and we arrived at the room.

There were two beds in the room, so we didn't have to worry about sharing, and a window with a nice view. (Y/N) kicked off her shoes, then ran towards the bed closest to the window and flopped onto it. "I call dibs!"

I smirked and ran up to her laying on the bed. "That's not fair!" I ended up tickling her sides until she was crying laughing and begging me to stop.

She was still laughing when I let go of her, and I couldn't help but smile. She's really cute...

I've been friends with (Y/N) for a while now, and she even came with me to save the world from Giygas. Sadly, I've never been able to tell her how I actually feel about her. She's really funny and chill, and overall she's really cute, but I don't want to tell her that because I don't think she feels the same way.

At first we began talking about all that happened on the trip so far and how nice it's been outside (minus the Dusty Dunes desert), but after a while (Y/N) glanced at the time and said "It's getting late, we should go to bed." 

After we both got changed for bed, it was time to sleep. We got settled into our beds and turned away from each other. I tried to fall asleep, but I kept thinking about the fight with Giygas, which really disturbed me, and at sone point I even had a nightmare about him.

I had just snapped awake from another vivid nightmare about Giygas when I heard sobbing from the other bed. I turned to see (Y/N) with the blanket over her head.

"(Y/N)? What's wrong?"

She lifted the blanket and turned to face me. It looked like she'd been crying, which she was.

"N-nothing. Just go back to sleep, I didn't mean to wake you up."

"You didn't wake me up. What happened?"

She wiped her eyes. "Well...I had a nightmare... a-about Giygas."

"Oh. I'm sorry."

"Ever since that trip, every now and then I'll think about how scary it was fighting that...thing, then...I don't know,  I'll get all worked up about it again and I'll start getting all scared, or have nightmares."

She blushed out of embarrassment. "Sometimes the nightmare gets so bad, I'll ask my older sibling if I can sleep in their room for the night. It just makes me feel better when there's someone there with me."

I didn't want to leave her all scared like that, so I did the first thing that came to mind. "Well... do you wanna share a bed with me?"

She blushed even more. "Huh??"

"You said you feel better when someone's there with you. Do you wanna sleep with me?"

"W-well, if you're okay with it, then sure."

I smiled. "I'm fine with it. Come on."

She left her bed and climbed into mine. She turned her body away from me, and for a few minutes I thought she was asleep, then she asked me a question.

"Ness??"

"Yeah?"

"Is it...is it okay if I get closer?"

"Sure."

She scooted an inch closer, so I closed the gap, wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her close so I was spooning her.

She stiffened up and made a small gasp. "I-"

I just wanted to make sure she was okay with this. "Are you alright?"

She relaxed after a few moments. "Yeah..."

I decided to lighten the mood a little, or a least make her feel comfortable. "It's okay if you have nightmares about that day. I do too."

She leaned into me. "Really?"

"Yeah. Sometimes they do get really bad, so I'll just try not to sleep."

"Is that why you invited me to do this? So you could feel better too?"

I nodded. "Well, yeah, but it's also because..." I trailed off, hoping she fell asleep.

However, she was still awake and waiting for me to finish. "Because what?"

I guess I'll confess and hopefully she doesn't get mad.

"Well, I felt bad about just leaving you there like that, I wanted to help. After all, I really like you and it just felt wrong if I left you upset like that."

"Wait, what do you mean you like me? As a friend or as a crush?"

I blushed. "As a crush.."

(Y/N) looked up at me and smiled softly. "I have a crush on you too."

She turned to face me and planted a kiss on my cheek. I guess I looked surprised, because she giggled straight after. Then she yawned, turned around and let me wrap my arms around her waist again and pull her close. "Good night Ness, I love you."

I rested my head against her back. "Good night, I love you too..."

She hummed in response, and we both fell asleep.
