(Y/N) P.O.V:
I was at the Fourside Baseball Field, watching my husband Ness play a practice game of baseball with his fellow teammates.
Back when Ness and I were little, we lived pretty close by to each other and enjoyed hanging out with each other. Eventually, I began acting odd around Ness. I would get a little nervous when I hung out with him, and every time I thought about him, I would blush a little. I thought everything about him was absolutely adorable, and I realized I'd fallen hard for the black-haired boy. Little did I know, Ness felt the same way, so he confessed to me when we were 13, and we started dating.
Most of our friends knew about us dating and had no issues with it, but there was one kid who had all types of issues with us being together. Ness's next-door neighbor, Porky Minch.
Porky didn't like me even before Ness and I started dating. He never let me hang out with him or Ness if it was just the two of them. Sometimes he would even be rude to Ness. One time when we were 8, Porky discovered that Ness had a secret treehouse with some other boys without him. When Porky figured out, he got extremely upset and pushed Ness off of the ladder, which made Ness break his arm.
Later on, when Ness and I were 13, Porky just...vanished. I don't know where he went, and his parents don't know either. I don't know if Ness knows, considering he doesn't like to talk about Porky.
"(Y/N)? Are you alright?"
I snapped out of my thoughts to see Ness sitting on the bleachers next to me.
"O-oh! I'm fine. Just thinking about something..."
Ness gently grabbed my hand and led me onto the field. "What're you thinking about?"
I shrugged. "Just thinking about your friend Porky. Do you ever wonder where he went? I haven't seen him since I was 13."
Ness stopped smiling, and a guilty expression covered his face. "I don't know. I don't like to think about him."
We stopped at home plate, and I linked my arm with his. "I'm sorry, love. I shouldn't have brought it up then..."
Ness smiled reassuringly and was about to say something when a high-pitched sound began echoing around the field. Everyone looked at each other or around the field, trying to pinpoint where the sound was coming from.
At the middle of the field, I saw the outline of an odd-looking contraption materializing as the high-pitched sound began dropping in pitch but still getting louder. As the sound continued getting lower in pitch, the weird machine became more visible. It was a machine that looked like a giant Mr. Saturn.
Ness looked confused and surprised. " A Phase Distorter??"
The Phase Distorter fully materialized, and the sound stopped. Everyone looked at the machine in awe confusion.
"What is that?"
"Is it a time travelling machine??"
"Who do you think's inside?"
The others started running out of the field when a rattling noise was heard from the Phase Distorter. The door opened, and out stepped a person I hadn't seen in years.
Porky Minch.
He looked completely different than when we were kids, and not in a good way. He was the same height and build, but his skin was pale and sickly. He had wrinkles like an old man, and he had a mustache. His hair looked thin and it was white, almost as if he had aged. I guess that's what happens when you abuse time travel...
He took a minute to take in his surroundings, then his gaze fell on Ness. His straight face becane a shrewd grin.
"Ah! There he is! My favorite person! What was your name again? Pig's butt...no..right, Ness!"
Ness looked too stunned to speak.
"How've you been? It's been a long time since we've seen each other!" Porky looked Ness up and down. "Look at how you've grown! You've become some big-time baseball player, huh?"
I moved a little closer to Ness, which caught Porky's attention. His gaze fell on me, close to Ness and clutching his arm.
"Ohhhh, I remember you! You're that one girl who followed Ness around like some lost puppy. Have you two gotten hitched already or what?"
Ness looked miserable. "Porky...what happened to you?"
Ness's concern made Porky smile even wider. "Nothing, old friend! I just came by to say hello!"
"It's been decades since I've been in a time period where you're still alive, so I decided to go back and see your stupid face again! I should have come soo- *hack* *cough*"
Porky broke into an intense coughing fit while Ness and I just watched awkwardly.
After a few moments, Porky recovered himself. "Anyways, I just wanted to pop in and say hello. After all it's been a while, and we've both grown."
Porky climbed into the Phase Distorter again and leaned his head out of the door. "See ya later, losers! Spankety, spankety, spankety."
He then got back in and shut the door. A low-pitched hum began emanating from the Phase Distorter, and it began disappearing. As the hum raised in pitch, the machine became more and more transparent. Finally, the hum stopped, and the Phase Distorter had completely vanished.
I turned to face Ness and I saw a mixture of disbelief, concern, and guilt on his face. "Ness? Are you alright?"
Ness was sill staring at the field where the Phase Distorter was a few minutes ago. "What happened to him...?"
"Ness? Love, are you listening?" I moved in front of him and put my hand on his cheek. He looked at me and frowned.
"I could have stopped this..."
I don't understand what he's saying... "Huh?? Stopped what? Porky?"
"Maybe if I said something, he wouldn't have turned out this way...."
"Ness...love, this isn't your fault."
Ness stepped away from me, looking somewhat frustrated and guilty. "It is... if I actually helped him, maybe he wouldn't have come out this way!"
"Ness-"
"(Y/N), I'm serious. I saw him when I fought Giygas. Maybe if I were nicer to him, he wouldn't have turned out this way."
"Hey-"
"His parents have been looking for him for ages, and he left just because I wasn't helping him in any way..."
"Ness." I stepped towards him again and pulled him into a hug. He put his head on my shoulder and I stroked his hair.
After we pulled away, I put my arms around his neck and kissed his forehead. "It's not your fault that Porky turned out this way. He was the one who betrayed you and chose Giygas."
"Yeah, but still-"
"He's the one who stole the Phase Distorter and has been using it to travel through time."
"True, but-"
"Ness, I believe that you tried your best to be nice to Porky, but no matter what you did, he would have turned out this way. This was his own decision, and you shouldn't blame yourself for what he chose."
Ness looked conflicted for a second, but then sighed and put his arms around my waist. "I guess you're right."
I kissed his cheek, which made him smile a little. "Don't blame yourself for something that's not your fault, alright love?"
Ness sighed. "Okay." He leaned in and pressed his lips on mine. After a few seconds he pulled away.
I smiled and grabbed his hand. "C'mon, let's go home."
He smiled back. "Alright."
AN: I'm considering making a full Ness x female reader just to see how it turns out. Do you think I should do it? Comment your opinion down below. I will try to continue these oneshots, but Iwill mostly focus on the book. See you next chapter!
