Fractured(Ness x Reader)

Reader P.O.V:

It was a sunny afternoon in Onett, but instead of playing outside with some of my friends, I was in my room, lying on my bed and mentally scolding myself.

You moron... look at what you've done to yourself!

My left leg was currently in a cast as a result of my stupid decision to jump out of a tree because I got freaked out by a spider. It's been 3 days since I first broke it and it feels horrible. I have to use crutches to walk because my wheelchair hasn't been given yet.

The doorbell rang, and I heard the sound of my sibling's footsteps, then the front door opening. I could hear my older sibling talking to someone, but I couldn't make out the words or who she was talking to. There were footsteps towards my room, and the door swung open, revealing the face of my favorite friend.

Ness smiled reassuringly at me. "Hey (Y/N)! I heard you were in a cast, so I came over to help you out until your wheelchair arrives."

Just seeing how he wanted to help me made my heart speed up. "Thanks..."

"No problem. So... what do you want to do?"

I thought for a moment. "We could play video games downstairs."

"Alright! I'll help you get down the stairs." He extended his hand towards me. I grabbed his hand, and he pulled me off the bed, then wrapped his arm around my waist to steady me. I put my arm around his shoulder to steady myself, and he walked out the door and down the stairs slowly with me leaning on his frame.

The walk down the stairs was silent, but my thoughts were racing, and I was blushing. Even if Ness only had me close to him to help, I felt so happy being close to him. Having his arm around my waist and his hand on my thigh, I felt extremely giddy and a little embarrassed that the only reason he had me close like this was because I was in a cast.

We had finally got downstairs, and we began playing video games on the living room TV. After 30 minutes of playing games, I felt kind of hungry.

"Ness? Are you hungry?" 

"A little. Are you?"

"Yeah. We should order a pizza, since, you know.... my mom's not home and I can't cook..."

Ness pulled out his phone and dialed Mach Pizza, then ordered a medium pizza for us. After the call was over, he helped me to my feet and smiled at me, which made my heart jump. "What d'you want to do while we wait?"

I shrugged. "I got some new comics. Do ya want to check them out?"

"Sure." Ness pulled me close to his side by the waist and we started up the stairs together. Once we were in my room, we busied ourselves by looking through some of my comics until we heard the doorbell ring. I rushed downstairs with the help of Ness, and we got our pizza. We sat down at the kitchen counter to eat.

After we ate a few slices of pizza, we washed our hands and Ness got an idea.

"Would your mom mind if I spent the night with you?"

I was excited by this idea, but I knew better than to just say yes without permission. I pulled out my phone and dialed my mom. "Hi mom!"

"Hi honey! Are you alright?"

"I'm fine. Ness came over to help me since the wheelchair hasn't come in yet."

"Aww, that's sweet of him. Do you need anything?"

"Is it okay if Ness stays for the night?"

"Er....I don't know... Okay. Just make sure it's okay with his mom too."

"Really? Thank you so much mom! I love you, bye!"

"Bye!" I hung up and smiled at Ness. "She said yes! You should ask your mom too."

Ness got out his phone and called his mom, and after a few words back and forth, he hung up. "She said yes too! I gotta go home and get my stuff really quick." He raced out the front door and closed it behind him.

While I waited for him, I couldn't help but turn red while remembering how he had his arm around my waist to steady me when I walked. Having my crush that close to me was mesmerizing, even if he only did it to steady me. The thing I probably loved the most about him was how he'd go out of his way to help his friends.

After a few minutes, I heard a knock on the door, and I let Ness in. I looked at the time and I noticed it was kind of late. "We should get ready for bed. "

Ness slipped his arm around my waist and helped me up the stairs and into my room. He left the room so I could change, and after I left so he could change into his pajamas. After we got ready for bed, we both climbed under the covers and Ness turned away from me.

I wasn't sleepy yet, and I wanted to thank Ness for helping me. "Ness?"

"Yeah?"

"I just wanted to thank you for helping me since I broke my leg. You made my afternoon really fun and I'm glad you came over."

Ness turned slightly and smiled at me, which made my face heat up. "You're welcome."

His smile then turned slightly mischievous. "I helped you a lot today.... don't you think I deserve a reward for that?"

My face was now bright red. "H-Huh??"

"You heard me. Don't you think you owe me from helping you?" His tone was joking, but I was still flustered.

"....." I made up my mind. I scooted closer to him and pressed my lips on his. Ness looked shocked for a moment, then leaned into the kiss.

We pulled away after a few seconds. "Is that a good enough payment?"

Ness turned bright red, and I giggled. 

"I was just joking, but I mean, that'll do..." He pulled me close to him and I put my head on his chest.

"I really like you (Y/N)... do you...like me back?"

I smiled. "I do."

Ness gave a sigh of relief and went silent. A few minutes later, I heard his breathing go even, and I knew he fell asleep. I snuggled closer to him and listened to his heartbeat.

"I love you, Ness."

AN: Here ya go! New chapter, and I have nothing to say. Updates might slow a little because school's coming back real soon for me, but ion know yet, sooooo just see ya next chapter.
