Rainy Day(Ness x Reader)

enjoy the story, and apologies for uploading real late! I've been real busy, so I won't upload as fast as i used to.

No one's P.O.V:

The year is 200X.

Fourside, a bustling metropolis in Eagleland.

Ness's and (Y/N)'s home.

It was a cold and rainy evening. People were out and about, hurrying to their destinations as fast as possible to avoid getting wet. In the suburbs, everyone was either home indoors, or at work, because no one wants to be out in that downpour unless you absolutely have to be.

In a certain home, there is a young woman, curled up under her blankets, reading to herself. The atmosphere is calm, and there is no noise except for the therapeutic sound of raindrops hitting the windows.

While it looks like (Y/N) is just minding her business(she kind of is, but anyways) she is also waiting for her beloved husband Ness to get home. She looks up at the clock and sighs. "Since it's raining, shouldn't his practice be canceled?"

She closes her book and sets in on the bedside table, feeling a little tired. Her hand goes up to her stomach, which was slightly swollen due to her expecting a child.

She just got out of bed when she heard the front door open and shut, and the sound of footsteps coming in from the rain. 

"(Name)? You awake?" A tall man with a baseball cap and a slightly wet baseball uniform entered the room. He took off his cap, revealing a head of messy black hair. His gaze landed o on his wife, and he smiled.

Ness wrapped his arms around his lover as she leaned over to kiss him on the cheek. "How was practice? You came hone late."

Her husband smiled apologetically, and there was a hint of amusement in his deep-blue eyes. "There's no need to be worried. I just got stuck in traffic on the way here." She hummed appreciatively as she buried her head in his chest, and the couple stood like that for a while, enjoying each other's company.

As the evening went on, the rain continued, and the couple ate dinner together and after did whatever pleased them in their home. At some point, the both of them decided it was about time they get ready for bed, but (Name) had to do the dishes first.

As she scrubbed the plates, (Name) hummed to herself and let her mind wander, Afterwards a while, she felt a pair of arms slip around her waist, and the taller frame of her husband against her back.

"How was your day?"

She shrugged. "I don't know... I spent most of it asleep, to be honest." This remark made the man holding her close chuckle a little. She turned to see the look of amusement on his face. "Whaaaat? It's true!"

Ness smiled at her reaction. "I actually saw Andonuts earlier on today. He's here in Fourside for a science convention, so he was pretty busy, but we agreed to meet up this weekend." While the two continued their conversation, (Name) finished doing the dishes and the two of them made it to their shared bedroom.

As the both of them got comfortable in bed, Ness wrapped his arms around his wife and let his hands rest on her swollen stomach. (Name) notices this, and begins getting uneasy.

Ness notices her uneasiness. "Still nervous about the child?"

"Not really nervous... just a little concerned."

"....About what?"

"Being a parent. I do love kids, but raising one is going to be difficult..."

Ness nodded. "It will be hard sometimes, but it'll also be nice too. You'll be fine."

(Y/N) turned to see his expression. "Aren't you worried too?"

"I am. After all, this will my first time being a dad, but I'm also excited. Aren't you?"

She shrugged. "I guess..."

"We might be new to this, but we'll learn together. How about that?"

"...okay."

Ness smiled and gave his wife a peck on the forehead. She smiled back and the both fell asleep, happy with each other's company.

Oh my golly goodness. This actually took me a good century to write. With school back, I've been real busy, so my updates are going to be real slow. Please be patient with me. Anyways, that's all for now! Leave a vote and a comment, and I'll see u next chapter! :)
