Stevie glanced to her left and sighed rolling her eyes. She turned to face the other way and leaned her head against the window of a hired car. She wanted to go on vacation, she just wanted to have her better half all to herself and have fun. Better half, she scoffed to herself. She had begged him for months until he finally gave in. Now, however, she wasn't so sure if she was right to be so persistent. He had promised, he wasn't going to work, he was going to spend all of his time with her. He had already failed as she listened to him talking on the phone.
The car had taken them from the airport and it finally stopped by the hotel entrance. At least he wasn't cheap. For a second, Stevie brightened up. Her mood changed again as soon as they got out of the car and Dean marched towards the entrance.
"Uh, excuse me?" Stevie raised her voice, which made him stop and look back over his shoulder. "A little help?"
"They'll take care of our stuff, come on." Dean beckoned to her, she gritted her teeth.
"I know that." Stevie replied, struggling to hold her beloved pet with one hand and her massive bag with the other. "I'm not leaving this."
"Oh my God..." Dean muttered to himself, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I can replace whatever's in there in case it gets lost."
He could, absolutely, but it wasn't about that. It was about the fact that he couldn't do one thing she asked of him. Clearly pissed, Stevie made her way towards him, her sunglasses shielding the icy look she gave him.
"I'll check us in. You go, wait over there." Dean gestured with his hand. "I won't take long."
Choosing to bite her tongue, Stevie walked a few steps away to at least put her bag down while she waited. Something caught the tiny dog's attention and it managed to free itself from her grasp.
"Lily!" Stevie yelled out. Dean looked in her direction and decided to pretend that he didn't know her. "Baby, come back here!"
Stevie couldn't exactly run in her heels, but fortunately a kind stranger managed to scoop the little dog up into his arms before it could get too far away.
"Thank you so much! Oh, this is so embarrassing." Stevie gave a sheepish smile, the man just waved it off.
"You don't have to be embarrassed." He smiled, scratching Lily's ear. "Glad I could help." He nodded once and stepped back. "Enjoy your stay." He said and walked away.
"If you're done drooling..." Dean approached Stevie, she frowned, but he didn't pay too much attention to it. "Our room's ready."
