Forever and Always - SHOTOXOC (Eng Ver.)

Chapter Five

"You just couldn't avoid attracting attention huh, Icyhot?" I look with crossed arms at Shoto, who joins me after his team has just won.
"What do you mean?" He asks me as he looks at the monitor projecting the upcoming teams. I roll my eyes, dropping the subject. His team win in less than ten minutes and he even has the nerve to play dumb.

We watch the rest of the practice in silence. I am quite impressed with many of my teammates, some of them having really powerful quirks and remarkable fighting skills. The only one at all peculiar is Midoriya, he has a destructive quirk for himself which is strange.

Afternoon classes pass quickly so that we finally get to the end of the day. My best friend and I head home in silence, each lost in thought.
Arriving in front of his house, we enter, immediately taking off our shoes at the front door. "We're back!" I say, throwing my backpack on the ground and looking for Fuyumi. Then screams are heard from the kitchen.

"YOU PUT THE PLASTIC CUTTING BOARD IN THE OVEN?!" The girl screams, staring at the poor, now unusable appliance.
"What's going on?" Shoto asks leaning against the doorframe. "I asked Natsu to cut up the chicken and put it in the oven, BUT THIS DEFICIENT DID HAVE THE BRILLIANT IDEA OF INFRINGING THE CHICKEN DIRECTLY WITH THE CUTTER."

Shoto brings a hand in front of his face, sneering slightly as I can't help but burst out laughing at the ridiculous situation. "Natsu, really?" I ask between laughs.
The boy simply scratches the back of his head, trying to salvage what can be saved. Obviously failing miserably. "You simply ask Enji to buy a new one? Surely the oven is gone by now."
The poor girl sighs, putting down the sponge with which she was trying to deglaze the oven. "I'll have to think of something else for dinner. Mei, are you staying here?" I nod cheerfully and then take Shoto by the hand and drag him to his room.

As soon as we enter, he sits on the bed while I head to the closet to get a change of clothes.
Ever since we were little, we have always left a couple of clothes at each other's houses since we spend most afternoons together. Eventually I opt to get some of my shorts but one of his shirts. I turn around just in time to see my best friend take off his shirt.

My cheeks immediately catch the color of Kirishima's hair and I feel hot.
It's not that I've never seen Shoto without his shirt on, in fact we even bathed together as children, but he has definitely changed and grown over the years. Now he has a different body, mature and beautiful to look at. The boy turns to me, bending his head to the side.

"What's the matter?" He asks coming dangerously close to me. If he were to touch me right now, I might seriously be unaccountable for my actions. I back away slightly, shaking my head.

"Nothing, don't worry. It's just hot today and I need a shower. Cold. And..." My eyes can't help but rest on his abs and his lean, muscular physique. Shoto is slightly sweaty from the hot day and so a droplet of sweat runs right through the middle of his abs to stop at the beginning of the waistband of his pants.

I noisily send down some saliva and then go to the bathroom without saying another word.

Shoto

I watch Mei head for the bathroom still red in the face. I don't think she's very well, maybe the heat is really bad today. What if she faints in the bathroom from the heat? I'll go check on her later in case I don't hear her come out again.
I grab a couple of clean clothes from my closet and then go to the other bathroom in the house to take a shower too. I walk past the door where Mei is washing.

"I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY, BUT NOT LIKE HOW YOU WERE WITH ME.

I'M SELFISH, I KNOW, I CAN'T LET YOU GO

SO FIND SOMEONE GREAT BUT DON'T FIND NO ONE BETTER

I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY, BUT DON'T BE HAPPIER."

I can't help but smile hearing her sing like this. When she is here, I don't know how but I can almost see this place as home.

After finishing my shower I head into the living room where I find my sister and best friend sitting on the floor getting a face mask. I lean slowly against the doorframe and watch them laugh at something. They look so cute together, passing the time doing these girly things that I will never understand.

Mei bends her head back bursting out laughing at something Fuyumi said and I realize how beautiful she is right now. Simple as she laughs spontaneously.
Her gaze lands on me and she signals for me to go sit next to her. "Choose." She shows me some packets containing masks so I choose one at random. The two girls approach my face at the same time. I sigh, preparing myself for my fate.

Mei

We see the door open revealing the imposing figure of Endeavor entering the house, followed by my parents.
"Hey, are you guys here tonight?" I ask going up to my father and hugging him tightly. My mother gives me a kiss on the top of my head before taking off her shoes. "Yes. Fuyumi called and asked us to stay for dinner. And since our pest was here, of course, we decided to come. Besides, we want to know how it went today." My father answers me by breaking away from the hug and entering the house to go greet the others.

"Why doesn't anyone also come and greet me with a hug when I enter the house?" Enji asks as she looks at her children.
"Because you suck at human and emotional relationships." I say, giving him a fake smile before walking over to Shoto and positioning myself in front of him.

Years after years I have developed a form of instinctive protection toward the boy, especially when his father is in the room. I know very well that he doesn't need it, but after watching him suffer for years, as well as the rest of the family, it comes naturally to me.
I feel Shoto hugging me from behind, resting his head on my shoulder and his hands on my belly. I relax almost instantly and let out a small sigh. "You don't need to do that." My best friend whispers against my neck.

I nod slightly before shifting my gaze to Fuyumi and my mother who give me a smile of understanding before pointing at me and then at the boy. I cast a look at both of them only to see them giggling together.

"Where's Natsu?" My father asks, heading into the kitchen with the other two women.
"Here, he had something else to do." The white-haired girl answers, awkwardly scratching the back of her neck. We all nod, knowing full well that the only reason he didn't stay is his father.
