Chapter Thirty-Seven

"I think I have a crush on your mother."
Bakugo turns to look at me with frightening speed.
"YOU WHAT?"
"She has a point. I think the same thing." Denki replies, high-fiving me.
We meet at Bakugo's house.
Today is only the second day of the internship and yet we needed to let our minds wander.
"I can't believe you actually came with those things."

Kiri showed up wearing creepy clothing.
He had on a red shirt with a blue sweatshirt, in blue Bermuda shorts and ugly red crocs.
"ARE THEY COMFORTABLE OKAY?" He yells at us, pulling away for a moment from the Nintendo Switc he swiped earlier from Bakugo.

"Let me play a little too." Sero says throwing himself on the bed and reaching for the game.
Yuki is sitting in Bakugo's lap on an armchair while Mina and I are on the floor with our backs against the end of the bed.
Apparently, Katsuki found the courage to declare himself.
And he was also romantic in doing so, which left us all amazed.
He took her on a picnic, where he cooked and then asked her to be his girlfriend.

I look at them smiling and can't help but feel a tinge of jealousy.
Don't get me wrong, not because I feel anything for him, in fact I am really happy for them and I see how happy Bakugo is with her.
I feel jealousy because it is what I have wanted to have all my life.
A date, a kiss, hanging out with friends and being a happy couple.
The problem is that the person I've always dreamed it with doesn't feel the same way.

Yuki seems to notice this so he gets up and comes near us girls.
Now I feel guilty.
"So girls how is your internship going?" She asks as she sits down across from us. The more time I spend with her the more I understand why Bakugo fell in love.
She is really sweet and always thinks of others before herself.
Mina starts telling him about her days and she really pays attention to her words, which makes you feel good when you talk.

"What about you Mei?" The redhead asks me shortly afterward.
"More or less good. I'm learning a lot about my uniqueness thanks to my parents. Especially from my mother since my dad's quirk has always been easier for me to use. There's something to be said, though, that interning with Shoto is awkward at times." I explain to the two girls.

"Is it that bad with him?" Mina asks, stroking my arm.
I nod as I lower my gaze.
"We barely talk to each other. The only things we communicated about these days were instructions passed to us from Endeavor. Nothing else. It's frustrating." I say with a sigh.
"I am more and more convinced that you have to wait for him to take the first step. He was the one who made the mistake first and therefore has to apologize." Mina tells me convinced.
"I don't know Mina, I'm beginning to have doubts about this technique. I know he's having a really hard time and he's in a lot of pain." I tell her while scratching the back of my head.

Yuki squares me with a soft look before speaking.
"Maybe Mei we were wrong to give you that advice. It's probably as you say. You know him better than we do."
Mina does not utter a word not being sure what is right to say.

"Well but enough about me. You tell us, what struck you about that menstruate?" I tell him pointing at Bakugo with my head.
The girl blushes turning the same color as her hair.
"It was actually a strange thing. I've always spent my life like searching for something you know? I always felt empty or like I was missing something, and then when I saw him, it was like that emptiness was filled. I had found that thing I was looking for. I know it sounds silly but I felt exactly like that."

The girl says these words to us with much embarrassment.
Mina and I give a few squeals by having her tell us in full detail about their date.
