"Write your cell phone number here." Shoto says to me, handing me a paper on the counter.
"Are you an idiot or what? You already have my number." I reply to him not understanding.
Has the ice frozen his brain?
"Look at the paper, idiot." He tells me as he turns back to look at the board.
So mean.

I pick up the paper and look at what is written on it.
Group for what... Oh
Yes, I'm stupid.
I write down my number and then pass it to Yaoyorozu so that she can continue the round.
Right now we're having class with Present Mic and I'm getting pretty bored.

I could sleep, but I'm pretty sure I'd get caught.
I could pull out my cell phone and read, but Shoto is waiting for nothing else to tease me.
I snort audibly causing my best friend to let out a giggle.
Gripped with despondency, I can do nothing but the obvious thing.

Drawing.
I start outlining a face and then move on to the ears and eyes.
And without almost realizing it, the drawing takes the shape of Shoto.
Like many of the drawings I do.
It is not my fault that he is so attractive.
Finishing the drawing, I spy it on the heterochromatic boy's counter quite proudly.
He blushes, smiling at me.
Can I die of tenderness?
Yes? Okay.

It is beautiful to see this side of Shoto so often that I know it is reserved only for me.
No one sees him smile or laugh but me.
We have always been there for each other, having each other's backs and being there in the darkest moments.
Like when his brother died or my sister disappeared.
Probably if it weren't for him, I would have gone crazy or come out more broken than I already was.

Bringing me back to earth is the ringing of the bell marking the lunch break.
As if I had a spring under my butt, I spring to my feet ready to eat.
Food. That's all that matters now.
I head for the door when I trip over a bag and bump into a back.
Please don't let it be the freak. Please let it not be the freak. Please let it not be the freak.

"OH LOOK WHERE YOU'RE GOING DAMN EXTRA."
Eh but what a bummer.
"In the meantime let's calm down eh." I impulsively reply to him only to realize I've done something stupid.
"DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN. YOU ARE LESS THAN NOTHING. YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO." He yells at me as I get to my feet.
I cross my arms over my chest and glare at him.
I feel a presence behind me and from the scent I can tell it's Shoto.

"Oh wait a second..."
I bring a hand to my forehead pretending to look for something behind Bakugo.
"What on earth are you looking for?"
"What I should give a damn about what you say." I say with a grin on my face staring intently at the blond.
"So basically, you woke up this morning and chose death right?" Says the boy with yellow hair and a black lightning bolt between it.
Pikachu, honey, you are in the wrong anime.

The freak comes out with 'tch' and then passes me and walks away.
With a satisfied look, I turn to Shoto who looks at me shaking his head.
Am I sadistic? Yes.
Do I regret it? Yes.
Would I do it again? Probably.
After shrugging, we head to the cafeteria for a good lunch.
For as hungry as I am, I would eat anything.

The lunch break passes fairly quickly and afternoon classes finally begin with our studies to become heroes.
"What do you think we'll do Icyhot?" I say as I sit on his desk dangling my leg under it.
Icyhot is a nickname I gave him when we were little, shortly after Shoto developed his quirk. Childhood, to be sure, was not very kind to him but as much as I could, I always tried to entertain him like any child.

I look at him fondly and then pause for a few moments to observe his scar that has made him so insecure over the years.
From my point of view it is his distinguishing feature, as are his hair and his heterochromatic eyes. They make him special. Different. And very handsome.

I am brutally brought back to reality by one of our comrades with red hair that is shot all over the place.
"In my opinion it will be another test like the one Aizawa gave us. I'm Eijiro Kirishima by the way." He replies with a huge smile.
"No in my opinion they will test our fighting techniques instead. Kind of like the entrance test." A girl with pink skin, pink hair, and two tender horns on her head answers.

"Yes I also agree with..." I say looking at the girl.
"I'm Mina Ashido. How about you?"
"I am Mei Takeda while he is Shoto Todoroki." I reply pointing first at me and then at my best friend.
"Of course, you are the son of hero number two Endeavor while you are the son of Scarlett and Vermillion Mind right?"
Both Shoto and I nod, he with a little less conviction.

Our conversation is interrupted by Iida telling us to go sit down for the start of the next class.
"I don't know about you, but that one is a huge pain in the ass." I say huffing at Shoto.
"You can't stand him just because he's a responsible person and told you what to do."
"What's that got to do with it? You are also responsible and sometimes you tell me what to do and yet I adore you." I reply by looking at him.

A slight blush forms on the boy's cheeks at my words. He looks away from me to hide it, and I can't help but smile and blush a little myself.
But this moment is short-lived because we hear shouting from outside the door.
"IT'S ME." A voice is heard.
Then the door swings open with much more force than I had put into it, but this time nothing happens.
My usual luck.
"THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!"
All Might peeps through the door in all his pride, and my eyes can't help but light up.

The Number One Hero is going to be our teacher! This is unbelievable. So many squeals of surprise and joy go up around the class, including my own.
He has always been my favorite hero, after my parents of course, and I know practically everything about him and his heroic deeds. As a child I used to watch a lot of his videos together with Shoto and his mom. Those were my favorite moments.

"For this class we will prepare many tests to make you heroes!" All Might enthusiastically began.
"Let's start with this one! The combat test!"
Mina turns to look at me and whispers that she was right.
I snicker slightly and then raise my thumb to her in approval.
I like Mina.

"And for your first battle, we have prepared the equipment you asked for according to your specialties!"
Our costumes!
"Get changed and then we can begin. Gather everyone at Camp Beta!"
At last we are fighting. I immediately stand up and run to retrieve the briefcase containing my costume.
I jump slightly in place and then approach Ochako and head together to the women's locker room.

Once in the locker room I change fairly quickly, too excited for the afternoon class.
"Come on Ochako. Hurry up." I say hopping around her as she is slipping on her boots.
"You're really excited huh." I hear Momo say behind me.
"So much! We have All Might as our teacher, we can finally use the costumes, and now we're going to fight. How can you guys be so calm?"
"I am not calm at all. I am extremely agitated. Ribbit." Says Tsuyu adjusting the gloves of her costume.

"And we could finally see the boys in their hero costumes." Hagakure affirms
"Yes they did! I wonder how cute Shoto will look. He's definitely the most attractive one in the class." Mina affirms.
At her affirmation, I feel a thread of anger growing inside me. Jealousy?
"Actually, his costume sucks." I retort in an all too sour tone.

Mei, try to calm down.
"Have you seen it yet?" Mina asks me, taking my hands in hers.
"Of course. We worked together on our costumes, and I repeat: his is hideous. But of course he wouldn't listen to me."
"Oh come on we are talking about Shoto, I bet it will still be beautiful. "Hagakure retorts with dreamy eyes.

I shrug my shoulders and having all finished getting ready, we walk out heading to the camp.
I put my arm around Ochako's shoulders.
"Ready girl?" She asks me with a smile.
"I was born ready."

A/N

Please I love the relationship that is developing between Mei and Ochako. They are so cute together.
As for Mei's costume, I'm working on it so you will likely see it in the next chapter.

A kiss to everyone and as usual let me know what you think!
