The ride up the elevator is charged with tension.
Neither of us utter a word as we have our heads turned to the opposite side.

This had never happened before. Probably because we had never argued to this extent.
I want to ask him how it went with his mother but I know very well that he wouldn't answer me or, even worse, he would get even more angry.

I turn to look at him for a few seconds and it feels like I haven't observed him in a long time.
His gaze is fixed on the door in front of him and I want so badly to hug him and throttle him at the same time.

Shoto has always been an objectively handsome boy ever since we were in middle school. We were always in class together, and I also remember very well all the crushes our classmates had on him, which always made me extremely jealous.
But they all stopped at his physical appearance or the fact that he was the son of hero No. 2, none of them knew how special Shoto actually is.

He has perfect, delicate features. From this side I can see his scar starting from under the topknot and disappearing behind more hair. I always thought that scar only made him more handsome even though he is very unsure of it.
His blue eye, like his father's, is barely visible having his head bowed, but I know how wonderful his shade of color is.

He has his hand behind the back of his head and does not seem to have noticed that I am looking at him.
Why did we have to meet like this?

I should not have declared myself.

The elevator doors opening bring me back to reality.
My mother is in the center of the room in front of us ready to welcome us.
I can't help but smile before running to her and being welcomed into her arms.

"Welcome! I am so glad you both chose to come here. We will spend a lot of time together and I am sure this will be very helpful for you to improve with your uniqueness inherited from me Mei." She tells me as she pulls away from the hug and gives us a tour of the agency.

"Oh but see who's here." I turn toward the voice and see Moe, one of Endeavor's other sidekicks.
"Moe! Long time no see!" I say walking up to her.
"How you have grown up! I remember when your parents bring you here after school and I had to keep an eye on you." She says, mussing my hair.

"And look at you Todoroki. You've really grown into a handsome boy. I bet you're going to break hearts at school."
Shoto bends his head to the side not understanding his sentence.
"What do you mean?" She asks him, touching his chest.

"In the sense that you'll have all the girls at your feet. No?"
The two-toned boy opens his eyes wide and looks at his shoes.
"I don't know. I've never seen any girls put themselves at my feet. Why would they do that? There's nothing special about my shoes." Shoto lifts his foot to take a better look at the shoe and then returns to look at Moe questioningly.

"Nothing. It is fortunate that at least in fighting you are capable than in relationships with people."
My mother intervenes.

"Dad?" I ask, following her toward Enji's office.
"He's in Endeavor's office. Lately he's been back in action Stain and they're discussing some things." She tells me, furrowing her brow.
I nod and we meet again in front of the large office door.

Shoto steps forward and knocks.
As soon as we hear "come in," we enter the huge room.
"You have finally arrived." My father says, coming to greet us.

"Shoto. Mei. I hope you will do your best this week. Especially you my son, I expect great things from you."
The two-toned man does not respond to his father only clutching his briefcase tighter.
"Go ahead and change me. Crime certainly doesn't wait for you."

And so begins the first day of this internship.
