Forever and Always - SHOTOXOC (Eng Ver.)

Chapter Twenty-Five

"Sorry to be against you Momo."
We find ourselves in the locker room putting our suits back on for the last round, which is the individual battle.
In the first round I am up against Momo, and as much as I know I will give my best, I still regret having to face her.

"It is normal to have to fight each other as well. So let's give it our best and may the best one win." She says giving me a big smile.
I return the smile by tying my hair in a high ponytail.
"You're right."
Being ready we head to the stands reserved for students to watch the first fight.
I sit between Mina and Ochako seeing Deku and the purple-haired boy, with whom Bakugo clashed a few days ago, make their entrance into the arena.

The rules are simple enough: in order to win, you have to get your opponent off the field or you have to say you give up. With a quirk like mine, it doesn't seem extremely complicated, unless I'm up against someone like Bakugo.
With all that smoke it would be impossible to see him and so throw him out of the ring.
But now I'm thinking way too far ahead, I have to concentrate on the fight against Momo first.

Apparently the boy's name is Shinso. And now he's saying something to Deku, but I'm not thinking about it extremely carefully.
I look for Shoto with my eyes but I don't see him anywhere. He has probably gone to prepare for his fight which is next.
As I reach for my cell phone, I get a text message.

Mother
Honey, why aren't you with Shoto?

Daughter
His period has come

I put my cell phone away, having no desire to deal with this conversation now.

Deku manages to win and moves on to the next round.
This means that Shoto's time has come.
I don't know how much emotion and anger he has accumulated during these few hours of time, but from the look on his face and his momentum, I imagine a lot.

Sero is preparing for the fight while Shoto remains inscrutable.
As soon as the start is given, the black-haired boy goes on the attack, trapping the two-toned man with his tape.
He starts spinning him around the ring, aiming to take him out.
But I know my best friend too well, and I know he won't be beaten so easily, in fact he immediately goes on the counterattack.

Within a second, he frees himself from the tape thanks to the ice and uses what is his most powerful attack.
A huge block of ice forms around them trapping Sero and continues across the arena to the outside.
The usual overkill. I know he does all this to prove something to his father.
He doesn't need to though.

Shoto moves on to the second round and I see him use his left hand to thaw his opponent.
I know full well that he was in a bad mood and I can't help but regret my decisions.
Maybe I could have done something or maybe, sooner or later, this moment should have come when he faces his emotions and his father alone.

But either way, I should have been by his side.
"Are you ready?" Ochako's voice brings my attention back to my surroundings.
"You're next Mei."
I take a big breath and print the best smile on my face who can at the moment.
Now I have to focus on beating Momo.

"STRAIGHT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HEROES, TAKEDA MEI."
I feel adrenaline coursing through my veins as I make my entrance into the ring. I see on the other side Yaoyorozu get into position as well.

I adjust my tail and snap my fingers.
I'm ready.

Some light begins to form on the palms of my hands, surrounds them, and a start is given.
I give Momo a small smirk as she creates a shield to shield her entire body behind it, as if that could stop me.
I take control of the shield and throw it across the arena.

I move toward her, accumulating more and more light around my fingers.
Without giving her any more time to think, my oneness completely envelops her body.
Her expression is shocked as I lift her off the ground and throw her out of the ring.

"AND TAKEDA MOVES ON TO THE SECOND ROUND AFTER ONLY A FEW SECONDS FROM THE START OF THE FIGHT. WE HAVE REALLY INTERESTING STUDENTS THIS YEAR."
I let go of Momo's body as applause and cheers echo throughout the arena.
I take a small bow before walking out and back to my classmates.

I could live just for this feeling and these emotions.
I look at my hands enjoying this moment of victory.
I can do this.
