The game between Karasuno and Nekoma was a stressful one to say the least. At times, I accidentally ended up cheering for Nekoma's scores which earned me some dirty looks from the Karasuno side and I have to remind myself which team I'm apart of. In the end, it ended up being Nekoma's win despite being a very close few matches.
I swing my legs off the stage as Yamamoto is stood in front of me, bragging about 'how well he played'.
"I told you we'd crush them!" He grins, squirting some water into his mouth from his bottle as I roll my eyes.
"Don't be so full of yourself, the team put up a fight!" I scold and he scoffs. "Besides, you've gotten worse since middle school," he gasps dramatically as I giggle.
"As if!" He throws his towel at my face making us both laugh. "You know, you've come to one of my matches so it's only fair I go to one of your races. When's your next race?" He says and I tap my chin.
"It's in a few weeks, I'll be sure to message you the date!" He nods happily before smiling brightly.
"It really is good to see you again Himikochan, I've missed seeing your stupid face everyday," he says and I smile, punching his shoulder lightly.
"What's gotten into you, you're never nice to me," he grins, putting me in a headlock making me squeal.
"Yeah don't get used to it!" He says as he ruffles my hair and I struggle to get him off. He finally lets go, and I gaze over his shoulder to see Tsukishima glaring at us from across the gym. I sigh, jumping off the stage and patting Yamamoto's shoulder.
"I have to get going home before it gets too late. I'll text you ok!" I say and he waves as I walk off towards the sulking blonde. "Hey," I say to him as he gives me a stern glare.
"That's what you call setting boundaries?" He says and I shake my head sighing.
"Can we just go? I don't want to talk about this right now," I groan and he follows me silently as we leave the gym, heading to the train station.
The walk to the train station was dead silent, but not a comfortable silence. The exact opposite. Things are tense and it's the first day of us being together, surely that can't mean something right? I do really like Tsukishima, but it just seems like we can't agree on anything. We get to the train station, and I turn to face him only to see him staring to the side with his hands in his pockets.
"I'll see you tomorrow then," he says turning around and I bite my tongue.
"Tsukishima wait," I say grabbing onto the back of his jacket. He stops, but doesn't turn to face me and I keep my grip on his jacket. "I'm sorry. I've been really petty today when all you did was ask me to set boundaries. I should've listened, I was pushing it today with the others and I'm only just realizing what I was doing was wrong-"
"Just stop talking," he says turning to face me with a smirk. "You don't have to apologize idiot, neither of us do," I tilt my head confused. "We both still have the mindset where we hate each other so we're just finding reasons to be mad at the other," I giggle softly and nod.
"Yeah now that you say that, it makes sense," he smiles, ruffling my hair.
"Maybe that can be... normal?" He scratches his neck and I look at him confused.
"What do you mean?"
"Well earlier today, we said we'd do things our way. Just because we're dating, doesn't mean we have to change the way we treat each other. It's obvious we're used to the teasing and arguing so why should we have to change, it's not like we mean it anyway," he says and I nod.
