"Wow look at all the lights and the stalls and food!" I gush, pointing my finger to every little thing I see as Suzu giggles at me.
"What should we do first Shibuki?" She says, her arm linked with Arai as he smiles lovingly at her.
"I'm hungry! I want Takoyaki!" I say, immediately darting off to a Takyoki stall as the three struggle to keep up with me through the busy crowds. I quickly order, digging in and dragging the three over to a mini game I spotted with a mouth full of food.
I close one eye, biting my lip as I try and aim the toy gun at the target but even with three bullets I was unable to hit the target. I pout, looking over at Arai who smirks at me, hitting the target and winning a stuffed duck and he hands it to Suzu as I huff. Tsukishima watches me closely, noticing my disappointed frown and he clears his throat.
"I can try-"
"No time! Let's go Yakitori!" Suzu says as she grabs my hand and runs off with me, Tsukishima grimacing and following slowly behind.
Our time at the festival mainly consisted of me and Suzu running around hastily, stopping at multiple food vendors and mini games as the two boys just followed, earning a glare if they ever complained. I roll my eyes as Suzu struggles to hold all the prizes that Arai won for her and I hold up the small key chain, the only thing I managed to win. As we walk around for a bit longer, I can feel the geta starting to hurt my feet but I just brush it off, giggling as I watch Suzu wipe some crumbs off Arai's face making his cheeks erupt into a dark red.
"Oh Shibuki! I've never tried grilled squid before should we get some!" Suzu says to me and I rub my neck, looking down at my red feet.
"I'm gonna sit down for a bit. Can you and Arai bring me one?" I say and she frowns but nods.
"I'll stay with her," Tsukishima says standing behind me and I shake my head.
"No no you go get grilled squid!" He rolls his eyes.
"Don't you remember what happened last time?" He says and my face goes pale.
"What? What happened last time?" Arai says and I laugh awkwardly.
"Nothing! You guys go on and Tsukishima and I will wait here!" Suzu shrugs, dragging away a still confused Arai as I sigh.
Tsukishima and I walk over to a bench that was slightly secluded from the festival, being on the other side of a bush. I groan as I sit down, rubbing my burning foot as Tsukishima takes a seat next to me.
"Wearing geta seems like a bad idea?" He says and I huff, resting my elbow on my knee and propping my head up.
"It's a firework festival... you're meant to wear yukata," I say and he shrugs. I glance up at him, seeing the panda headband still on his head which makes me giggle softly. He looks down at me with a raised eyebrow.
"What?"
"Nothing... it's just you look so grumpy but I can't take you seriously with that headband," I laugh and he just grins, flicking my forehead. I stop laughing when a small meow is heard, my head whipping around to see a frail black and white kitty in the bushes. It's gold eyes shine in the dark as it watches us carefully. I gasp, crouching down in front of the bush as Tsukishima looks down at me.
"What is it?" He says and I hold my hand out.
"It's a little kitty... the poor thing looks starving," I say and Tsukishima hands me a stick with some left over Yakitori on it.
"I didn't finish mine, give it to him," he says and I take it excitedly, pulling it off the stick and placing it on the ground in front of the bush. We watch silently as the cat slowly steps out of the bush, sniffing the ground until it reaches the Yakitori. It begins to eat the Yakitori and I smile watching it, Tsukishima also finding himself smiling at the sight.
