JEN

Laying comfortably against my beautiful man, I can swear I feel his arms tighten around me in the tiniest way. I convince myself that it's just not possible, but it still gives me a little taste of the comfort I've been craving.
Hearing a small tap on the door, I yell out "come in", and adjust myself into a sitting position.
A small smile appears on my face as I see the Doctor from the first night walk in.
"Hi there sweetie!" He beams back at me.
"Hi Doctor...Doctor 'I never got your name'..." I wince, watching him pick up Justin's records, and quickly glance over them.
"Doctor Roberts." He chuckles back.
"Okay..." I smile.
"Shall we wait for the rest of the crew to get here?" He asks, taking a seat in the chair over in the corner of the room.
"Yes please. If you're not too busy...They shouldn't be long." I reply.
"Justin is my last for the day, so I can sit and wait." He replies.
I nod back, and look towards Justin. Reaching towards his hand, I twist my fingers in with his, smiling at the contact.
"You seem very in love!" Doctor Roberts states, watching on.
"Mmhmm." I reply, the smile not leaving my face.
"How did you meet?" He asks, as I realize he probably doesn't care, he's just making small talk.
"Uhh...I was 3...he'd just turned 6."
"Really? That long ago huh?" He asks.
"Justin and my brother were best friends in kindergarten. Justin pretty much just...moved in." I giggle, remembering back to first seeing him.
"I liked him way back then though...I remember having this little crush, and I'd annoy the shit out of him..." I smile to myself, then shake my head a little.
"I've known him for 13 years now. I never thought this sort of happiness was real. I never imagined that I'd ever have perfection right in front of me..." I glance up to see Doctor Roberts with a little smile on his face.
"He's been my best friend all along...he says it's like a fairytale..." I say, staring back into his eyes.
"Sounds like it..." He replies with a warm smile. "I can't wait to meet him properly when he wakes up."
I beam back at him, as the door opens revealing Chase, Pattie and Mom.
"Hello darling." Mom gives me a soft kiss on the forehead, before handing me a bag.
"I asked Chase to bring you some fresh clothes, but of course he forgot..." she smiles down at me.
"Thanks Mom." I reply.
Mom stands up straight and I watch her brush Justin's hair from his forehead and kiss it softly.
"Wake up now Justin, I miss your smart ass shit!" Mum giggles softly.
I hear her, but my eyes are currently on Doctor Roberts, who hasn't once taken his eyes off my mother since she walked in.
His lips are slightly parted, his eyes wide as he watches her.
Clearing my throat, he glances at me quickly.
I raise my eyebrows in his direction with a smirk on my face and watch as he lets out a small chuckle and shakes his head slowly.
Haha. Sprung!! This'll be interesting...
"So...how do the results look?" Pattie asks, sitting on the arm of the chair that Chase is slumped back in.
"Okay...as far as his ribs and lungs are going, fantastic! They're well on their way to healing, and with the right care, everything will be good. The swelling on his brain has gone down, and we're going to let him wake up when he's ready!"
The smile on my face is massive, knowing I'll be seeing my baby soon, who I've missed so much. I can't wait!
"How long?" I ask, slipping my hand back into Justin's.
"Well the nurse that came in earlier removed the medicine that is administered for the induced coma. That was a decent hour ago, but the time of the patient waking up varies greatly. It could be anywhere between 6 hours to a few days..." Doctor Roberts explains.
"Oh..." I reply, the fact it could still be days until I hear his beautiful voice, look into his beautiful eyes...
"Thanks Doc." Chase says, standing up to shake his hand. "And thanks for being so nice to Jen after she ran up in that room screaming and shit..."
"No problems." He replies, laughing. "I like her, she's funny!"
I smile back at him, then shift my gaze over to Mom, who's also smiling up at him.
"Doctor Roberts, would you like to take my mom for some coffee?" I grin, hearing Pattie giggle.
"What? Jen, I'm sure he's very busy..." Mom blushes.
"No...I'm not busy at all." He replies, looking at Mom.
"Oh..." I watch Mom turn a brighter shade of red, before giving me a killer look, causing Doctor Roberts to chuckle to himself.
"Soo...uh...coffee then?" He asks her nervously, kicking the imaginary dirt on the tiles.
"Yes...I'd like that." Mom replies, standing and picking up her bag.
I watch him open the door for her, and give me a quick thumbs up before following her out.
Awww. That's cute!
