JUSTIN
"Because I'm gay!"
Wait...what?! Holy fucking shit, he's got to be lying. There's no way in hell my best friend could be gay. We've grown up talking about girls. We watched out first porno together that we found hidden under my Dads bed...He's so...straight looking!
I instantly feel bad that I've thought these things. He's still my bro, and this is big news. This is fucking huge!
We're all sitting in a state of shock. Even Chaz can't find anything to say right now.
"What the fuck?" I groan in disbelief. This is fucking crazy. "Why the fuck didn't I know this?" I ask myself aloud. "Did you know?" I point an accusing finger at Jen.
She shakes her head, her mouth slightly open and looking a little shocked.
"Nobody knew. Until now." Chase sighs nervously. He's still pacing the lounge room.
"Sit down man, you're gonna burn a hole in the carpet." Ryan tells him.
He falls back on the chair, looking stressed beyond belief. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it was to tell us. If we hadn't been teasing him, if we hadn't pushed him so far, would he have ever told us?
"Fuck man, I'm sorry...for talking about pussy all the time and stuff...and for ever calling you a name that I maybe shouldn't have...shit..." I feel awful for any time that I've called him a stupid name that I wouldn't think much about, now actually worried that I've offended him at some stage. There are probably plenty of times that I have, and I feel sick with regret.
"Shut up bro, I'm the same person I was two minutes ago! Just 'cos I like...anyway, don't treat me no different."
I nod slowly, squeezing Jens hand a little tighter than I was before.
"I know what you're thinking Chaz! Get over yourself bro, you're not even my type!" Chase says, laughing.
"Get fucked, I'm everyone's type!" Chaz bites back.
Jen snorts from beside me, and then tries to cover it up with a cough.
"Oi! What the fuck was that? As if you wouldn't Topdeck! If I'd have hit you up before this dick," he points at me "...we'd totally be fucking!"
"No...no, we really wouldn't be Chaz." Jen laughs, shaking her head.
Her laugh sends a wave of satisfaction through me, and I find myself staring at her in awe.
"Pssh, whatever." Chaz doesn't believe her.
"So...you have a type? This isn't just like a recent thing?" Jen asks Chase.
"Of course I have a type. Everyone has a type."
"How long have you known for?"
"A few years I think."
"Why didn't you think you could tell us bro?" I ask, pulling my attention away from Jen towards Chase.
"It's not the easiest thing to tell people."
"So that ass you had in your face last night really didn't do it for you huh?" I smirk, remembering how he basically ran away from the stripper who was shaking her booty on his face.
He blushes, and I can't help but laugh.
I watch as he runs his eyes over Jen and I, my head laying in her lap as she runs her fingers through my hair.
"Jen...can I talk to you for a minute?" He asks, signalling over his shoulder with his thumb.
"Is this where you tell me that you're crazy in love with Justin and we have to fight for him?" She smirks.
