JUSTIN

"My gosh, haven't you grown into a handsome young man!" Jens Aunty Ruth sighs, brushing her fingers down the side of my face. I grin back, thrown into a time warp. I'm sure she said the exact same thing last time I saw her. Six years ago.

"Leave the poor kid alone Ruth!" Her husband Craig scolds her with a warm smile as he wraps an arm around her waist and pulls her close. "Nice work young man, you picked a good one!"

"Thank you. No one else was ever in the running for wifey status." I grin.

Aunty Ruth covers her mouth with both hands and lets out a sigh, and I could swear a tear is about to fall from the corner of her eye and roll down her cheek.

Still got it. Making the ladies swoon since 1994.

I spot Jen on the far side of the room, my uncles arm draped over her shoulder as she giggles at something my cousin has said. My body automatically comes alive, the sound of her laughter going through me, making my cock twitch and a loving warmth settle in my stomach. She's so close, yet so far.

I thought engagement parties were meant to be a celebration of our love. 'Our night'. I can't help but wonder how that is when I haven't been able to get close to my beautiful wife-to-be all night. There was almost an opportunity to take hold of her hand at one stage before Jens grandmother-Rays mum, reached her tiny hand up to squish my cheek. Once it was polite enough to turn back around, it was only to see Jen being pulled away by Sues sister to go and talk to cousins she hasn't seen in years.

I'm craving for one touch, one kiss. Hell, at this point I'd be happy if we could steal a high five or a even a fucking fist bump.

"Hi Pattie!" Ruth smiles, her gaze shifting over my shoulder.

I turn and throw an arm around my tiny Mom, pulling her in close and kissing the top of her head.

"Hello Ruth, Craig, long time no see." Mom smiles, wrapping her arms around me.

I peek over the top of her head and catch Jens eye. She is halfway to a smile before she's interrupted and pulled further away from me. I let out a longing sigh.

"May I steal my son for just a moment?" I hear Mom ask.

"Of course!" Ruth replies.

"What's up Mama?" I question, as she directs me into the kitchen.

"This music Justin, it's sickening!" She sighs, scrunching up her nose.

"It's just music Mom." I laugh.

"Yes, but majority of the people here will think it's very distasteful. I think you should put something else on."

Anger boils through me and I try my hardest not to take it out on my mother. It's not all her fault.

"Not to mention you've got the kids here and they don't need to be hearing about Nicki Minaj and the fact she apparently 'didn't' have sexual relations with Wayne or Drake."

I can't help the grin that takes over my face. "Look at you! Next you'll be talking about Kendricks verse on 'control'." I laugh.

I give her a kiss on the forehead before turning away.

"Justin, just tone the music down a little, please!" She begs.

"I thought this was mine and Jens night?" I ask with raised eyebrows.

"Of course it is sweetie, but..."

"Then why can't I even seem to get within ten feet of her?! Why does it feel like everyone is trying to keep me away from my own fiancé?! On our special night?!"
