JUSTIN
"We gotta make a stop first." I tell Chase, reversing down the driveway. "I booked in at the tattooist. The only booking I could get for the next few weeks, but it really shouldn't take too long."
He hums along to the music, barely listening to a word I say.
"I think there's a sex shop down the road a little...they sell butt plugs and shit probably, if you don't wanna hang with me..."
Chase slowly turns his head to look at me, and I can barely contain my grin before I bust out laughing.
"Fuck you man." He laughs.
It goes quiet for a couple of minutes once the laughing has died down, as I tap my fingers to the beat on the steering wheel.
"Justin?"
"Yeh man?"
"I just wanna say thanks. I mean, I know you're taking the piss, but thanks for not making it all awkward and shit."
"You're still my bro Chase, nothing will ever change that." I frown.
"I know...just, thanks." He replies, and I can tell from the expression on his face that it's a big relief for him.
"So...TJ seems...nice."
"Yeah, he's cool." He shrugs in reply.
"Oh?"
"What? He sucks dick real good, but you already know that." He winks.
"So does your sister." I reply in the same tone.
"Shut the fuck up." He groans, punching me hard on the arm.
"Ow, you fucking prick, that hurt."
"Don't talk about my sister like that."
I laugh in reply, before a comfortable silence takes over again for a while.
"So...TJ ain't the one then?" I eventually ask, when he shoves his phone into his pocket with an exasperated sigh.
"I don't think so. He uh...keeps telling me how uh, sexy you are..."
"Well, y'know..." I grin, running my hand through my hair.
"You're a dickhead." He scoffs before continuing. "I just...I don't wanna hear that shit. I mean, I wanna be something to someone. To be quite honest, I think you and Jen have ruined love for the rest of us. Nothing measures up to what you guys have going on."
"You'll find it...but I'm not quite sure that me and Jen are the type of relationship you should want." I reply hesitantly, veering off the freeway.
"Are you fucking with me?" Chase scoffs.
"Our relationship was fucking drama from the start man. First hiding it from everyone, then the fucking Sophie shit, the car accident, then the worst fucking four or five months of my life. We've spent more time fighting than we have spent loving each other." I remind him with a frown.
"Have you for one second ever stopped loving her?"
"No. Not since the moment I met her." I reply without an ounce of doubt.
"Well there you go. TJ wouldn't know what love is I don't think. He's fun though, so I'll hang for a bit. Get some experience behind me..."
I look over to see him smirking.
We pull up to the tattooist, and my eyes land on the sex shop conveniently placed right next door.
"I don't wanna go in there man." Chase tells me.
