Ophelia was usually able to convince Hopper of anything and everything she wanted. But surprisingly enough, he didn't want her anywhere near the search party he started for Will the night before.
She couldn't really blame him but still, there was no way she was going to leave Jonathan and Joyce alone when they were going through so much.
He couldn't argue with that either so he agreed to let her sleep over another night, not that she felt like she was being any use to them being there.
Still, she was going to be as much of a help as she could- even if it was just emotional support.
"Where is your father?" Joyce groaned when Ophelia walked into the room.
"Mom, she just woke up. Eat your breakfast."
"I'm sure he'll be here soon, Joyce. And Jonathan, you should really eat your breakfast too."
"I'm not hungry. I made breakfast for you two."
"You shouldn't be making breakfast at all," she sighed, "I'm the one who should be helping you guys. I'm here to make things easier-"
"So you're going with Jonathan to the xerox place?" Joyce perked up, "It opens in thirty minutes and if you hurry you can get there- oh thank god!"
Joyce jumped at the sound of the knock on the door, eager for some good news while an obviously tired and not too happy Hopper walked in.
"Morning," he mumbled, "Hey, O."
"Hey, you get any sleep last night?"
"Did you? And preferably in your own bed?"
"We've got bigger issues here than me sharing a bed with a boy. You didn't get any clues?"
"Just the bike I found yesterday."
"I've been waiting six hours, Hopper," Joyce groaned.
"Well, I'm sorry but there was nothing and we were searching all night- damn. The storm did a number on this phone."
"You think the storm did that?"
"As opposed to?"
"Will called! I know it was him! I could hear how scared he was!"
"You could hear it? He didn't tell you?"
"No! It was like he couldn't but I- I can tell by his breathing, okay? I can tell he was scared and I could tell it was him."
"You could- his breathing? Seriously?"
"Yes I'm serious! I could tell! You can't seriously tell me you wouldn't be able to tell your daughter's breathing apart?"
"Mom."
"I-I obviously meant Ophelia's breathing."
"I'm going to check in on Lonnie," Hopper forced that sad look off his face.
