"Oh, gross," Lucas grimaced, quick to go back down the ladder, "Get a room!"

"We would if we could!"

"You're a terrible influence," Ophelia whispered, climbing off of Steve's lap and down the ladder to the kids, "You didn't see that, Sinclair."

"Want to burn my eyes out now as we speak."

"Why'd you go up there, anyway?" Steve huffed when he joined them too.

"It's dark out, I wanted to take a look. See if I saw Dart."

"No shit, it's dark out?"

"What were you too distracted with your tongue being so far down Ophelia's throat?" Lucas shuddered as he climbed up to the roof now.

"Ew! Lucas!"

"If I had to see it, you guys have to imagine it."

"Whatever, that was a one time thing!"

"It was?"

Ophelia only gave Steve a look as she looked out the window, "Shit. There's so much fog. You guys saw anything?"

"Nope," Max sighed, "Can you guys give me an estimate on how much longer you plan on messing with me? Just a heads up?"

"You seriously still don't believe us?"

"I haven't seen shit. Instead of 'worrying about our safety from this supposed monster' you two are up there making out and honestly? This is all just getting a little too boring for me."

"If you don't believe us, then go home," Dustin spat out, "We don't need you here."

"Jesus, someone's cranky," Max scoffed, going up the ladder to follow Lucas.

"What the hell was that, Dustin?" Ophelia frowned.

"I would say I was just listening to Steve's advice but it's honestly because I truly don't care."

"Steve's advice?" Ophelia didn't miss that he was trying to discretely shake his head at Dustin, "What advice did he give you?"

"That the way to get a girl is to act like you don't care," Dustin repeated his words from earlier like they were no big deal.

Steve knew he would be in trouble though.

"What?"

"I... I obviously didn't mean that," Steve chuckled nervously.

"Yeah. Sure you didn't," she scoffed, "But hypothetically, if you did, wouldn't that mean you're technically trying to get Nancy back by showing her you don't care when you were bringing her those break up roses?"

Steve only stared at her at loss for words when the sound of growling saved him from having to answer anything, or dig himself into a deeper hole than he already was.
