The last place Jonathan thought he would be spending time with Ophelia in was a funeral home.

In fact, he remembered New Year's Day vividly where they promised each other this would be the best year possible.

Granted, they both obviously wanted two different things but they were hopeful that this would be the year where they would finally get everything they wanted.

Needless to say, this was not what Jonathan wanted.

Hell, the last thing he wanted to do was plan his little brother's funeral. It was supposed to be the other way around and many years later.

There was no getting out of this now. He had to do this- and without Joyce's help nonetheless. At least he had Ophelia. She was truly his rock at this moment.

She truly was so strong and he admired her even more for that.

Ophelia liked to think losing her parents at a young age prepared her for this situation.

It was hard letting anything break her down when she lost the two most important people in her life when she was just a kid.

But as much as she tried to not show it, it really did hurt her. She grew up with Will. He was like the little brother she always wanted- the little brother she could've had if her parents survived the crash.

She tried not to let her emotions get the best of her though as she listened to everything the man was saying.

"Let's go look at the caskets, shall we?"

Ophelia nodded, continuing to hold Jonathan's hand as she pulled him along.

"Can you please stop picking the most expensive options?" Jonathan mumbled, "You know we can't afford that."

"I know. But you guys aren't the ones paying for this."

"There's no way I'm letting you pay for this funeral," Jonathan frowned, finally stopping with her in front of him.

"Sorry, we need a minute," she faked a smile at the director before turning to Jonathan again, "Johnny-"

"I love you. I do- I really love you, Lia and I appreciate you and everything you've done for me and my mom but I can't let you do this. You've done more than enough."

"No I haven't-"

"I get that money isn't a big deal to you-"

"That's seriously what you think of me?"

"I-"

"Jonathan, this isn't about me being reckless with my money. This is about me wanting the best for Will. Of making sure that little boy knows he's loved and knows that I would do anything for him. Even if..."

"You know Will never needed the flashy things for him to know he was loved," Jonathan mumbled, "You showed him you loved him everyday by your actions. Him getting an extravagant and big funeral would do nothing more than just bring out all the fakers claiming to have known and loved Will when they didn't even pay him any mind."
