"I can't believe you two are seriously trying to play rock, paper, scissors right now."

Jonathan and Ophelia only laughed at Nancy who rolled her eyes playfully, watching as they continued to play their game until the doors opened.

"Oh no. I didn't think they'd actually call him."

"Why wouldn't they call him?" Nancy gave her a look, "He's the chief."

"I hardly see why this concerns him- or why you were with Joyce?"

"You don't get to ask the questions here," Hopper warned her, "Only I get to ask them."

"Fine," she huffed, "Ask away."

"Maybe get those damn cuffs off of him first?!" Joyce demanded.

Powell and Callahan exchanged looks though, "We can't do that."

"Why the hell not?!"

"Just get the cuffs off," Hopper sighed.

"See? I told you he would say so!" Ophelia scoffed, "You can take your hands out now, Jonathan."

"Oh thank god," Jonathan sighed in relief slipping his hands out of the already opened cuffs.

The two officers immediately started patting their pockets, looking for their keys when Hopper shook his head.

"You seriously thought I wouldn't teach my kid how to pick handcuffs?" Hopper gave them a look.

"Or pickpocket," Ophelia held up the keys they were looking for.

"Give that back," Powell huffed, taking their keys back.

"And you should probably take a look outside, chief."

"Great."

Joyce immediately went to Jonathan and Ophelia when Hopper went outside with the officers, "What is Jim going to find in the car, Jonathan?"

"Just... equipment."

"Equipment for what?" she narrowed her eyes at him.

"For... just your average teenage things."

"Why aren't you answering my question? What exact equipment did you get?"

"Wait. You never answered why you were with Hopper."

"We- it was nothing."

"Now look who isn't answering."

"Hey, I'm the adult here! I call the shots."

"Joyce-"

"Okay, whatever the hell is going on here, I want answers now," Hopper announced when he slammed the box of weapons on the table.

The three exchanged looks before Jonathan shook his head nervously, "You wouldn't believe me."

"Try me."
