Ophelia wasn't planning on going to school.

Not with the bombshell she got from the Harrington's the first thing in the morning.

But when she got to the cabin and saw El locked in her room upset, she knew she couldn't bare staying inside all day with an angsty kid.

"You want to tell me what happened?"

"Friends don't lie. Hopper lied."

"How did he lie? Was he late again?"

"Yes."

"Wait. Did he even notice I wasn't home?"

When El shook her head, Ophelia smiled, "Huh. There are perks in having bratty little siblings."

"Bratty?" El frowned.

"Sorry. You're not- it's not- I know you want to see Mike and tell him you're okay but-"

"He said soon! It's soon! I want to see him!"

"I know but-"

"No buts!"

"God, you're making me so happy that test came out negative," she groaned, "And contemplating never having sex again."

"Sex?"

"Never mind that. If anyone knows you're alive, you'll be in danger. Mike will be in danger. Everyone who knows you will be in danger. Do you seriously want that for all of us?"

"No."

"Yeah, I thought so. Because you are the most caring badass little girl I ever met which is why I'm so sorry you have to stay in here locked up all the time and try to help whenever I can. But that's all that can happen. It's not permanent for now but it's for your own safety."

El only glared at her, making her sigh.

"And that's my cue to go. Please relax, will you? Hopper's doing the best he can."

Again, El said nothing as Ophelia grabbed her things and left, making sure not to set off any traps as she dreadfully made her way to school.

By the time she got there, she had already missed a few of her classes but she didn't necessarily care, making her way to Jonathan who was sitting on his car outside.

"Someone's late."

"I had a long night."

"Got laid?"

"Excuse me?"

"You went home with Steve."

"Your point? You went home with Nancy. Did you get laid?"

"Yeah. I had all the time in the world for that," he said sarcastically, "In dropping her off, dropping your car off then walking home and-"

"You could've just taken my car, doofus," Ophelia chuckled when she sat next to him, taking his other half of his sandwich.
