(Y/N) (L/N) had always felt gravitated toward the unknown. Towards forbidden things. Towards things that were never meant to be explored. This had caused a world of trouble for them throughout the years, but it never stopped them. They still explored. They still adventured to their heart's content.
Today, (Y/N) had been exploring the forest in their hometown. A large mountain stood in their way. It was somewhere they'd been told to never go. So, of course, they began to climb. They could hear the dirt and rocks crunching beneath their feet as they climbed towards the mountain's summit. They felt excitement begin to build up within them. Finally, something new.
The climb took hours, but it felt like mere minutes. (Y/N)'s adrenaline pushed them along. Finally, they had reached the top. They took a deep breath, looking out at their small town. It seemed so little from up here. Much too little for their adventurous heart. A soft smile came to their features. This place was new. This place was exciting.
(Y/N) explored the top of the mountain, finding a hidden cavern. They peeked inside. It was covered in vines and various other folliage. It was beautiful. Rather, it would have been if it weren't for the gaping hole in the center. They took a flashlight and turned it on, peering down the hole. They saw nothing but darkness. They took a step back. That looked like a long fall.
As (Y/N) tried to back up, they stumbled. A vine had taken hold of their ankle. How had that happened? They tried to pull it off, but to no avail. What was going on? They grabbed a pocket knife from their bag and cut the vine off. It withered and fell into the dark abyss. A shiver ran down their spine.
(Y/N) steadied themselves. It was probably nothing. They turned around. It was starting to get dark, so it was probably best if they headed home for now. As they began to walk, another vine took hold of them. The fell onto the ground with a soft thud. The vine began to pull, dragging (Y/N) into the dark hole. They held onto just about anything they could, but nothing worked. They clung to the edge of the hole, fingernails digging into the dirt.
However, the vine was too strong for poor (Y/N) and they began to fall. They screamed, but it only echoed in the endless hole. They closed their eyes, scared of what was to come. They didn't want to die. Not yet. Then, the darkness swallowed them up and everything went dark.
