After your heartfelt moment with Frisk, the two of you continued your walk through waterfall. You ended up running into Undyne, which went surprisingly smooth. She didn't even try to fight Frisk, which was surprising. It wasn't much longer until you reached the end of waterfall. "Do you want to keep going?" You asked. You figured it was best to make sure that Frisk didn't want to head back before continuing on.
Frisk smiled softly. "Sure." They replied. So, the two of you continued into Hotland. You were a little miserable almost immediately. Frisk, on the other hand, didn't seem fazed at all. "It's actually nice having a friend to walk with." They noted, glancing over at you for a brief moment. A smile crossed your face. "Maybe I should join you more often, then." You said, playfully nudging Frisk.
You and Frisk stared at the lab for a moment. Neither of you could decide if you wanted to go in. "It couldn't hurt, right?" You said, wanting to break the awkward tension. Frisk shrugged in response. So, the two of you entered the lab. Alphys was at her computer, typing away. You couldn't tell what exactly she was doing, though. Hearing your footsteps, she turned to look at you and Frisk.
"O-Oh! (Y/N)! Who's t-that with you?" Alphys said, fairly surprised. You smiled softly. "This is Frisk, my sibling." You introduced. Frisk seemed to like that. They smiled softly. "Nice to meet you." They muttered. You figured they probably didn't like how their voice sounded in this timeline, either. "My n-name is Alphys! Nice to m-meet you, too!" Alphys replied happily. It seemed like she was excited to have a new friend.
The two talked for a while, sharing anime recommendations and such. It was nice to see them get along so well. Yet, at the same time, you started to feel yourself get tired. "Hey, Frisk, I think I'm gonna head home. Do you think you'll be okay to go back by yourself when you're ready?" You asked, getting up from where you had been sitting. Frisk smiled. "Yep! I'll be alright. See you soon!" They replied happily. You left the lab, sighing as the familiar wave of heat hit you.
Instead of walking the whole way, you decided to try to catch the boat again. Plus, you wanted to see if the riverperson had anything new to say. When you reached the small dock, you saw the riverperson waiting for you. "Tra la la. Care for a ride?" They asked, turning to look at you. It was unclear why else you would be here, but you figured maybe they were just asking to be polite. You nodded. "Where to?" They questioned. You stepped onto the boat. "Snowdin."
After your response, the riverperson pushed off of the dock and began the journey. They were quiet in the beginning, just staring endlessly at the path in front of them. "Tra la la. Beware of the man who speaks in hands." They said, not moving their gaze. You froze. What the hell was that supposed to mean? "What?" You asked. The riverperson just stared on. "Tra la la." They replied.
You narrowed your eyes a little. "That's not a response." You said, confused. The boat docked in Snowdin. "Come again sometime." The riverperson said. You figured that meant it was time for you to leave. You stepped off of the boat, watching as the riverperson pushed off of the dock and left. "Weird.." You muttered, slowly walking back home.
The sound of the snow crunching beneath you was a welcome sound to your ears. It was unclear why you liked it so much, but you didn't really care. All you knew was that it helped you stay calm and collected. You walked into the house, plopping yourself down on the couch. You were honestly pretty exhausted.
Okay, sure. Maybe you hadn't done much, but you were emotionally tired. This whole situation was really heavy. Way heavier than what you were ready to handle. You sighed softly, staring up at the ceiling. You just needed a little while to recharge. "Where's Frisk?" You heard a voice ask. Sans was standing on the stairs.
"They're with Alphys. I came back because I needed to relax." You explained. Sans suddenly appeared in front of you. "Wanna go up to the room? I can keep the lights off and everything so you can chill." He offered. That sounded nice. "I can't tell if that was supposed to be a pun or not." You replied, fighting off a snicker. Sans smiled. "It's always a pun." He said, offering his hand out to you.
You took Sans' hand and he helped you to your feet. Instead of walking the twenty five steps to the room, he decided to teleport instead. You were a little taken aback, but your steadied yourself quickly. The lights were off in the room, but there was some natural light from the window.
"Get comfortable. I'll be right back, okay?" Sans smiled comfortingly at you before walking out of the room. You sat down on the mattress, wrapping a blanket around your shoulders. A few minutes later, Sans returned with a mug in his hands. "I uh.. didn't really know what you liked, so I made you some tea." He said, offering the mug towards you. A soft smile crossed your face as you took it. That was sweet. "Thanks, Sans." You replied, snuggling into your blanket.
Sans sat down beside you, but made sure to keep his distance just in case. "Of course, kid. Anytime." He said softly, smiling. You took a sip of the tea he made you. It honestly wasn't terrible. That was kind of surprising, considering you had no idea if Sans even knew how to make tea.
The two of you sat in comfortable silence for a while. You sipped your tea occasionally, recharging from the events of the day. It was nice to have Sans as company. "Hey, uh.. thanks for doing this." You muttered, unsure of what exactly to say. Sans looked over. "Eh, it's no trouble. Besides, I 'oughta take care of you, right?" He replied nonchalantly. You couldn't help but smile. His laid-back attitude was actually pretty useful when it came to helping you feel better.
