After you woke up, you decided it was best to get back to work. You headed out, not really bothering to say goodbye to anyone. You didn't have to. They were all busy anyway. You walked through waterfall, enjoying the nice scenery and comfortable temperature while you still could. Unfortunately, it didn't take too long to get to Hotlands. Small beads of sweat formed along your hairline.
You found the lab, knocking softly. You figured maybe this time Alphys would be ready for you. The door slid open, just like last time. You stepped inside, this time not startled by the stalker-ish monitor. You waited patiently for Alphys, looking down at the ground. It was a minute or two before she showed up. "O-Oh! I didn't t-think you'd be here so soon!" Alphys exclaimed worriedly.
"I h-haven't showered, I'm barely d-dressed- I'm not ready for visitors!" You felt bad for barging in like this again, but at the same time you figured that it would be like this no matter what. You smiled softly. "It's okay, Alphys. I don't mind." You replied, trying to be as kind as possible. Oops. You said her name.
Alphys seemed a little startled. "Y-You know my name?!" She asked, surprised. You needed to think of a way to fix this. Fast. "Undyne told me about you." You answered quickly, trying to make this seem as normal as possible. Alphys gets flustered. "Undyne t-talks about me?!" She was even more surprised now. Well, that didn't work out as you'd hoped.
"Yeah, she said you were pretty cool. She also told me you like anime..?" You said, hoping to change the subject. Alphys lit up. There we go. Crisis successfully avoided. "L-Like it? I-I love it!" She exclaimed, beginning to go on a rant about her favorite anime. You didn't mind it, listening intently. You liked it when she was happy.
The two of you talked about anime for what felt like forever. "Thanks for hanging out with me, Alphys." You said, smiling softly. She was definitely a lot easier to befriend than Undyne. "O-Of course! Thank you f-for visiting!" She replied. You stood up from your chair. "I have to head back now, but I hope I can see you again soon!" You were a little sad to go, but you also wanted to see Sans.
The two of you said your goodbyes and you left the lab. Walking this far all the time made you wish that you could use Sans' shortcuts. It would make your life a lot easier. You brushed it off, walking quietly. You tried to take in your surroundings rather than complain. It was nice, if not a little repetitive.
You came across the statue in waterfall again. Since you had reset, the rain was once again hitting it. You grabbed an umbrella, placing it in the arm of the statue. All better. The soft melody began to play again. You recognized it now. Your parent used to hum it to you back when you were younger. It was here now because of Chara.
It was a weird thought. Yet, at the same time, it was almost sweet. Your parent had cared about Chara a lot. The old Chara, at least. The one that was human. You shook your head. You didn't want to think about that right now. Instead, you got back to getting home. You stopped yourself for a second. Home? Had you really accepted that so quickly? You supposed Sans' was home now. Even if it was a little odd to think.
The walk to Snowdin took a while. Probably because you were walking so slow. You couldn't help it. The scenery was nice. You smiled softly, opening the door. "I'm home." You called. It was a habit you'd picked up from Sans. Papyrus waved to you from the kitchen. Meanwhile, Undyne was sitting on the couch. A thought crossed your mind. If Undyne would be staying here, she'd probably take the couch. That meant you needed to find somewhere else to stay.
You walked past Undyne, going up to Sans' room. The two of you had slept in the same bed before, right? How awkward could it be? You knocked on the door softly. "Come in," You heard Sans call. He sounded distracted. You walked inside. Sans was sitting on his mattress, reading a joke book. "Hey." You greeted, sitting beside him.
