Papyrus and Mettaton were busy anyway, so you and Sans saw no reason to not take your opportunity. "I get to pick the place this time, 'kay?" Sans said, getting ready to leave. You smiled softly. "Sure. I don't see why not." You replied, feeling giddy and excited. You weren't quite sure what you were expecting, but you knew this was going to be fun.
"You ready?" Sans asked, holding his hand out to you. Your fingers interlaced with his. "Absolutely." You responded. Sans teleported the two of you into Snowdin forest. That was surprising. You were expecting Grillby's. There was a fallen tree, the perfect size to be used as a bench. It was quiet, the wind rustling in the trees. You weren't quite sure how that was possible, but you tried not to question it.
It was honestly really pretty. The way the ice froze onto the tree branches and the snow covered the leaves was serene. You walked over to the fallen tree, resting your hand on it gently. "Do you come here often?" You asked, looking over at Sans. He walked over. "Sometimes. It's a nice spot for when I just need to get away from things." He explained, sitting down. You supposed that made sense. "Have you ever brought anyone else here?" You felt a little bad for all of the questions, but you were curious.
Sans shook his head. "This was always just my spot. Until now, anyway." He replied, looking up at you with a soft smile. You sat beside him. "Well, it's very nice. Thanks for taking me here." You said, leaning your head on Sans' shoulder. His cheekbones turned the slightest bit blue. "Y-Yeah.. no problem." He replied. You giggled.
"Got a problem, sugar skull?" You asked, looking up at Sans. His eyes widened a little and his blush darkened. "Nope. I'm just fine." He replied, looking away. You laughed. "Sorry, I couldn't help it." You smiled, not moving from your spot. Sans shook his head a little. "No worries. That just means I get to have payback." He said, not returning his gaze to you quite yet. You got a little anxious at the thought of that. Payback? Uh oh.
You and Sans sit in silence for a moment. Sans seemed like he was thinking about something. Probably about how he would mess with you later. "Hey, kid. Are you religious?" Sans asked out of nowhere. You looked up at him, sitting up. "What? Why?" You were confused. Sans smiled. Well, looks like you'd fallen into another one of his jokes. "Because you're the answer to my prayers~" He said, struggling to keep in his own laughter.
You couldn't help laughing a bit, too. "Is that your idea of flirting?" You asked, mimicking the thing you said from your first date. Sans caught onto this. "Of course not." He replied. You leaned a little closer. "Then what is?" You questioned. Sans cupped your cheek, leaning his face closer to yours. "This is." He said, about an inch or two away from your lips. "Is this okay?" He whispered, not wanting to ruin the moment. You nodded, your cheeks burning with anticipation and embarrassment.
Sans kissed you. You weren't quite sure how that worked, but you didn't care right now. It was a few moments before Sans pulled away. You blushed brightly, looking away. Your fingertips brushed against your lips. "That was..." You trailed off, not sure what to say. You smiled. Sans got embarrassed. "Too soon, right?" He asked, now second guessing himself. "Damnit. I knew I shouldn't have-" He started.
You kissed Sans quickly. "It was perfect." You replied, holding Sans' hands in your own. He smiled, looking into your eyes. The two of you stared at each other for a few moments, smiling like idiots. You laughed a bit, realizing how ridiculous you must look. Sans laughed with you. After you recovered, you leaned your head on Sans' shoulder again. He put his arm around your shoulders. "We should do this more often." You said. Sans looked over at you.
"More often than every day?" Sans asked. You realized how silly that sounded now, blushing. "Well... yeah." You replied, looking away. Sans chuckled softly. "I'll see what I can do." He said, squeezing your shoulder softly. You smiled, glad that he was playing along with you. It made this less embarrassing.
After a little while, Sans sighed. "We've got to head back soon, y'know. Papyrus is going to worry." He said. You frowned. You wished you could stay like this forever. "Do we really have to?" You asked, looking up at Sans. He nodded. "Unfortunately, we do, kid." He answered. You didn't like that answer at all. "Will you stop calling me kid? We've literally kissed twice." You said, huffing softly.
Sans' cheekbones turned a light shade of blue. "Nah. Just because it annoys you." He replied, sticking his tongue out at you. Wait what. Tongue? You did a double-take. "Wha..." You muttered, staring at him. He laughed. "What, never seen a skeleton with a tongue before?" He asked, snickering. You shook your head, still both confused and amazed. "I'm not too sure how it works, either, to be honest." He said, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand.
You chuckled a little. "Well, it's cool." You replied, hoping to make Sans feel a little better about it. He smiled. "Why thank you." He said in a joking manner. You smiled, standing up. You held your hand out for Sans. "Ready to head back?" You asked. He took your hand. "Sadly, yep. Wanna go the long way?" He offered, wanting this to last as long as possible. You thought that was cute.
"By that, do you mean walk?" You questioned, raising an eyebrow. Sans nodded. You kissed his cheekbone. "Then yes, I would love to take the long way." You said, squeezing Sans' hand affectionately. The two of you walked back to Sans' house in comfortable silence, enjoying each other's company. It was nice. Peaceful, even. It almost felt like the two of you were the only people in the world.
Of course, that feeling didn't last long. As the two of you walked, you saw the people of Snowdin going about their days. It was charming. They were all so sweet and simple. You didn't mean that in a berating way, either. They just had their simple ways of life. Routines. Maybe you should have a routine...
You were taken out of your thoughts as you and Sans arrived home. He opened the door, gesturing for you to head inside. You smiled softly, walking in first. Mettaton was still over. He and Papyrus were watching re-runs of Mettaton's tv show. You wondered how long that they had been doing that for.
Sans followed you inside, softly shutting the door. "We're home." He said, glancing over at Mettaton and Papyrus. Mettaton seemed happy to see you both. "Welcome home, darlings~! Papyrus and I were wondering where you went." His tone seemed nice enough, but you could tell he was trying to tease you. Sans rolled his eyelights.
"We were out on a walk, that's all." You said, wanting to avoid this conversation. You knew Mettaton would tease you to no end if he knew that you were in love with Sans. Mettaton smirked. "Sure you were, darling~" He teased. You pretended you didn't hear him, sitting down in front of the couch. "What episode is this?" You asked, wanting to change the topic.
Papyrus lit up. "IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITES!" He replied happily. Sans seemed unimpressed. "Paps, they're all your favorite." He said, leaning against the wall by the door. You chuckled a little, covering your mouth to hide it. "WELL, STILL. THIS ONE IS PARTICULARLY INSPIRING." Papyrus gushed. Yep. Definitely a big fan.
"Oh, Papyrus dear, you flatter me." Mettaton said, smiling. You figured he loved the attention. You switched your attention to the show, wondering if it really was as good as Papyrus said. You hadn't watched Mettaton's show at all yet, but you'd heard people talk about it a lot. He must be pretty famous.
