-Meanwhile, in District 3-
Krystal: WHY DIDN'T YOU SHOOT HIM?!
Krystal was mad at Luna for hesitating to shoot James when she had a wide-open opportunity. This scared Luna because she was in a lot of trouble.
Luna: I... I...
Krystal: Well? Spit it out, then!
Luna: I don't know...
Krystal: What do you mean you don't know? That inkling is the reason we are being destroyed! And you're telling me you don't know why you didn't shoot him when you had the chance?
Luna: I'm sorry, I just didn't know what came over me...
Krystal: Well I certainly didn't either!
Isla: Hey, calm down, Krys. At least we got to see that hotshot of an inkling in action.
Krystal calmed down. The last thing she wanted to do is become some kind of rage monster.
Krystal: *sigh* Yeah, I am glad that I got to see him again... but we could have seen him more if we captured him!
She dropped to the floor. Her breasts bounced as she hit the ground.
Krystal: Now the supreme leader is gonna be mad at me! *she buried her face in her hands*
Faven: It's not your fault, Krys. He is just that good!
Isla: Maybe Luna was right. I couldn't possibly hurt a guy as hot as him!
Krystal stood up in anger.
Krystal: I don't care anymore! The supreme leader will kill me if this inkling gets any further! And to make matters worse, he's got company!
Faven: Then we get him! There's still some time before he reaches the base!
Krystal: Well, how are we gonna get him if we couldn't shoot him when it was us 4 against just him?!
Luna: Did you even shoot at him, Krystal?
Krystal: What did you say?!
Krystal stormed over to Luna as she trembled at the sight of her.
WHACK!
Coming from pure anger, Krystal punched Luna in the nose. Luna fell to the ground in pain.
Luna: Ow!
Her nose started bleeding. She covered her nose with her hands. Tears started rolling down her face.
Faven: Krys... what have you done?
Krystal froze. She then realised what she had done. She immediately snapped back to regular Krystal.
Krystal: Oh no... Has anyone got a medical kit?
Faven: I know where to find one!
She and Isla started hurrying towards the exit of District 3.
Krystal: Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry, Luna. I don't know what came over me, it's just-
Luna: I didn't shoot him because I thought it was a bad thing to do, Krystal!
Krystal: Huh?
Luna had cut Krystal off by finally admitting why she didn't shoot James.
Luna: He was just an innocent inkling! *sob* The last thing I would do is shoot someone who did nothing wrong!
Krystal: What are you implying?
Luna: I hate it here! I hate being treated like just a soldier! I'm tired of always fighting for a team that just wants to take over the world all while failing to do so! I'm tired of you thinking you're the most important person around here! *sob* Do you ever care about us? Do you ever care about me? All you care about is power, and all we're doing is watching you do it all while obeying your rules!
*silence*
Luna: I... I... I hate you!
Krystal froze. Her heart sunk. Never before had she seen someone lash out at her like that. She took a step back from Luna. She took a good look at her and burst into tears. She covered her face with her hands to hide the embarrassment. Tears rolled down her face as she contemplated her life choices. Her sobs got louder and louder the more she cried.
Luna was still sobbing, covering her nose in pain.
Luna: Do you understand what we're going through, now? Or are we just some kind of soldiers to you?
Krystal took her hand away from her face. Luna could see the pain in the tears coming from her eyes.
Luna: I don't want to be here anymore...
Krystal: Luna... I now understand what you're going through. *sob* I wasn't empathetic enough to understand how you're feeling about all of this. I get it now, I've been treating everyone like squit, and obviously, that's a bad thing. I agree with you, we live in a shithole, and all we're doing is fighting for something that we haven't already agreed on. I forgive you, Luna. I forgive you for not shooting the inkling. I should have understood that violence isn't your thing, and you were just forced into this. I was forced as well, but I didn't think for myself, and I didn't think for the people around me. Please forgive me, Luna. I didn't mean to hurt you like that, and I'm sorry.
Luna took a good look at Krystal. She could see the sorrow in her eyes. She could tell she was being serious. Those tears were just as real as hers.
Luna: Thanks, Krystal. I'm glad you understand.
Tears were still rolling down Krystal's face.
Krystal: I want to be a good leader, and I've been trying my hardest to lead the octarians while working in this shithole of a base. There's been so much going on, and it's been stressing me out. To rub salt in the wound, the supreme leader is trusting me to single-handedly take out this inkling. I didn't know that I had been such a piece of squit to everyone because of it. My number one priority is to be a good leader.
Luna: I'm sorry you're going through all of this, Krystal. I'm glad we're both understanding each other's troubles.
Isla and Faven came running back with a medical kit.
Faven: Don't worry, Luna, we're gonna fix that nose up quick.
Isla: Hold still, baby.
Krystal watched as they cleaned Luna's nose. After a few quick minutes. Luna was patched up.
Luna: Thanks, girls.
She slowly stood up. She felt dizzy and was close to losing her balance once she was on her two feet. The three octolings turned to Krystal.
Isla: So... do you wanna talk about it, Krys?
Krystal: Actually I do.
She wiped the tears off of her face.
Krystal: I'm sorry for treating you guys like absolute carp. The conditions we are living in are playing a significant effect on how we all act, and it's one of the greatest reasons that I lashed out at Luna. I just wasn't as understanding of her as I should have been. I didn't understand what she was going through. So, girls, if you're ever feeling like life is tearing you down, don't feel scared to tell me.
She walked over to Luna and patted her on the shoulder.
Krystal: From now on, I swear I won't treat you girls like foot soldiers, I'll treat you like friends.
She took a good look at the three octolings.
Krystal: Come on, now. Let's go back to base.
