(No One's POV)
The final day of the Grand Magic Games arrived and Team Fairy Tail was more than anxious for today. The Games aside, this was a battle with one of their precious members on the line, and it was a fight they cannot afford to lose. As for Sabertooth, Sting was more determined than ever to get his loved ones back unharmed, and he had the perfect plan to go about achieving this, even if it meant watching his own teammates lose their battles.
The Games proceeded all according to Mavis's plan. Participants were being defeated one after another. On one end, Bacchus from Quatro Puppy was cornered by two Lamia Scale members, who ended up getting their point stolen by Sting, who dropped down from the roof of a nearby building. But before the two Lamia members could react to Sting's assault, the two of them were defeated by Kagura, but Sting had already vanished from the scene. Meanwhile, Team Fairy Tail still remained in their spots, no one moving an inch; their actions bewildered many, including their own guild.
"What are those brats doing?! Why aren't they going out there to get some points?!" Makarov questioned.
"They need to remain calm. For the past few days, I've been carefully watching all of the other participants; their magic, their movements, their patterns, I had Levina note them all down and came up with countless different strategies for us to use. So far, things are going as I expected," Mavis explained and ordered the five Fairy Tail members to start moving. Just as Mavis had expected, Rufus from Sabertooth had reused his spell from the Hidden event on the first day to try to thin out as many opponents as possible. But because Mavis had already planned for something like this to happen, all of the Fairy Tail members dodged the spell with ease while Laxus was able to easily block the lightning-based attack.
Everything continued to go according to Mavis's plan. Gray ended up fighting Rufus like he wanted. Juvia ran into Sherria as expected, and Gajeel ended up fighting Rogue. But when Erza was supposed to meet up with Sabertooth's Minerva, she instead found herself clashing with Mermaid Heel's leader, Kagura instead. While the two swordswomen dueled it out, a third source of magic interrupted their battle, blasting both ladies back.
"What? Why is Erza fighting Kagura?! No matter how much I recalculate, there shouldn't be a three-way battle!" Mavis panicked. But while Fairy Tail's First Master tried to make sense of the unexpected situation, the audience was loving the battle between the top three women in the tournament.
"I will not participate in this petty fight," Minerva announced as she backed off from the two swordswomen. The territory mage opened up her magic to reveal the two limp bodies of Millianna and Levina, both girls bloodied and bruised terribly. This sight horrified both Erza and Kagura as both feared for the hostages' lives.
"I happened to find a lost fairy and kitten, so I took them in to relieve my boredom. I must admit, their screams were quite satisfying to the ear," Minerva smirked, enraging her opponents, "Now you two can fight among yourselves. As the king of this competition, I'll only fight the victor since the other won't be worth my time."
"Levina?! What did you do to her?!" Erza raged, "Let her go!"
"That bitch!" the Thunder Legion growled at the sight of their teammate, "Don't tell me this is why Levina was missing last night!"
"If that girl still doesn't release Levina, this is war!" Makarov declared furiously. It was taking Makarov all of his willpower to stay in his seat right now instead of going out there to make Minerva pay; Minerva's actions during the Naval Battle was already pushing him to his limits, but capturing and torturing his dear granddaughter is enough to make the old man lose all rationality.
