Once in the half-destroyed guild hall, everyone began rejoicing in our great victory against the Alvarez Empire and some of the biggest threats in the world. Acnologia was dead and the Black Wizard Zeref was also gone-- there's nothing left for the world to fear.
"Pop the wine! Bring the booze! Today we celebrate defeating the Alvarez Empire and Acnologia!" Everyone raised their mugs for a toast and the guildhall erupted into a loud applause. The cheers and laughter were louder than I've ever heard before, mostly thanks to the other guilds here to join us.
"Beans, here. I kept it safe for 'ya." Sting clasped my necklace back around my neck, returning it in one piece as promised.
"Thank you. Here's your earring too." I gave him back his keepsake from his father, also in one piece as promised. I had tried my best to wipe off any dirt and bloodstains beforehand to not worry him, but some things just couldn't be removed with my sleeve alone.
"Thanks," he smiled brightly and leaned closer to my face, only to stop himself when he saw the blood dripping from the huge gash across my cheek. "That must've hurt badly... You should have Wendy heal it for you."
"Maybe later. I'm sure she's exhausted from fighting and tending everyone else's wounds already. Mine isn't that bad so some disinfectant and bandages would do. Don't worry."
"Your hair got chopped off too... You fought well." He pulled me into a tight hug as if never wanting to let me go again.
"You fought well too. Good job out there." I leaned into his strong arms and let out a soft sigh in relief. I am truly blessed. Everyone dear to me is still here, alive and well, and that was more than I could've ever asked for.
"Mm... Will you keep your hair like that?"
"Probably. It's a nice change." I twirled the burnt ends between my fingers as the memories of my battle came flooding back, sending chills down my spine. I still couldn't shake away the feelings and thoughts I had at the time. I never thought I had that in me-- a desperate urge to kill someone in such a brutal manner... I wanted to see his head rolling, and only then would I have felt satisfied... Just knowing I'm capable of those thoughts terrified me to the core.
"You alright?" Sting's grip around my hand tightened in a comforting manner.
"Mm... Just lost in my thoughts," I smiled reassuringly, but of course, he could still catch my uneasiness. "I'll tell you later... In private."
"Okay. You can always tell me anything. I'm all ears." He planted a gentle kiss on my temple before letting me lean my head on his shoulder. I didn't do anything wrong... My feelings were justified... Let's not worry about it right now...
"There you guys are." Minerva and the rest of the Sabertooth members came over to join us after getting their wounds treated. "We're glad you're both okay."
"Yeah, we're glad everyone's safe too," I smiled at the lady in front of me.
"By the way, I thought I heard a rather janky proposal earlier," Rufus said, making Sting choke on his drink. Of all words, he chose the word janky... I thought it was cute though... Hm...
"Janky?! Why is it janky?!" Sting yelled with tinted cheeks.
"Because it's fun teasing you. You give nice reactions," Orga laughed.
"So... congrats on your engagement...?" Rogue said ever so insincerely.
"If you're gonna say it like that, don't even bother!"
