A week passed since the Fantasia Parade, and people were beginning to settle down again after the whole Battle of Fairy Tail incident. The Thunder Legion were adapting to the guild again after being away for so long, and of course, there were still people giving us nasty glares, but I've grown used to their scorns by now.
"Everyone, may I have your attention?" the master suddenly stood up on stage, "I will take responsibility for my grandson's actions and step down from my position as master." This left everyone shocked and people were quickly trying to dissuade him.
"Master, please don't make Laxus's punishment even worse," Freed said, "Think of how he would feel if he learns that you stepped down from your position because of him." I guess this made grandpa rethink his decision and kept his position. Of course, I didn't take my brother's excommunication too well at first either, but the Thunder Legion members all tried to cheer me up and were there to support me. There were also others that were enraged at the master's decision, especially Natsu, but soon calmed down after being scolded by Erza.
"Still~ It's quite surprising that Laxus is a dragon slayer," Happy pointed out.
"No. Laxus isn't a dragon slayer," grandpa explained, "When he was young, he had a lacrima implanted in him that lets him use dragon slayer magic, that's all."
"Levina, did you know about this?" Natsu asked, and I nodded. I quietly went back downstairs to do some studying to distract myself, Freed following behind me.
"So for this problem, you can use the trigonometric identities to simplify the function to make it easier to sol- what?" Freed asked, as I tried my best to stifle a laughter.
"I'm sorry, but I can't take you seriously with your hair like that," I giggled, making him blush in embarrassment. The day after the Fantasia parade, Freed had decided to cut off all of his hair as a form of self-punishment.
"Anyways, math," he cleared his throat and directed my attention back to the textbook.
"So this is where you were," my grandpa's voice called out to us, "Um... about your birthday present.... I didn't get the chance to give it to you on the day, but here. Happy birthday." He handed over a beautifully wrapped box.
"Oh! You're all down here!" Bickslow and Ever came down and huddled over. I carefully opened the box to reveal a pair of magical headphones in a baby lavender color. It had a wide selection of music genres from classical to heavy metal; I quickly put it on and immediately found all of my favorite pop songs.
"Thanks grandpa. I'll use it well," I smiled and gave the man a hug.
"Hey, we got you something too," Ever said as each of the Thunder Legion members handed me a present.
"You guys didn't have to. Thanks," I smiled and opened each box carefully. Bickslow got me a cute lightning bolt shaped hairpin, Evergreen got a cute cross-body purse, and Freed got me a magical pen that allowed me to write out runes and other types of magical scripts. I pulled them all into a warm hug.
"Thanks," I thanked them again with a wide smile. Ever took the hairpin from Bickslow and fastened it into my hair after styling it, and I put the pen into my new bag.
"On the same note, let's go on a job!" Bickslow announced and showed us the flyer.
"Elements Revived? 'Our city has been experiencing a great deal of weather. We believe it's caused by the monsters in the abandoned shrine. Please help us'," Freed read the request off the poster, and they all looked over at me.
