The seasons slowly shifted and the days grew colder. Throughout all of September and into October, everyone pitched in to rebuild our town of Magnolia. People from other guilds and towns came to help whenever they could, and by the time of my twentieth birthday, everything was almost as good as new.

"Isn't it great that everything is fixed in time for your birthday?" grandpa said. "How old will you be this year... er... twenty-one?"

"Close, but just twenty this year." I answered as I made him some tea, much to his complaint for alcohol instead.

"Ah, twenty already. You brats all grow up so quickly, and you even have a good husband– or husband-to-be– now. I still remember the day you were born as if it was just yesterday, and now you're getting married soon. You're all so big now and I just keep getting older... Maybe it's really time to step down..."

"I thought you said you won't let anyone else be guild master until you die?" I joked.

"That's 'cause you guys keep passing the baton back to me," he sighed. "But it really isn't getting any easier... My health is declining and it's difficult going to meetings in my current state. Plus, you guys always cause huge messes wherever you go, especially Natsu."

"I'll talk to Erza about it. Please take care of yourself and don't push yourself too hard. Um... If you'd like, I can help you with some of your work. I've done them before and helped out often back at Sabertooth too, so just say the word and I'll be there," I smiled.

"Levina..." He looked at me with touched, teary eyes. "As expected, you're my pride and joy! I really appreciate the offer, but not today. Today is your day, so go enjoy it with your friends."

"Alright, alright. I'm going now. Sting is waiting for me after all," I chuckled and pecked his cheek.

"Oh, right! Before I forget." He reached behind the counter and pulled out an old, vintage book that was barely hanging onto its spine. "Happy birthday, Levina."

"'Fairy Sphere'... Grandpa... I can't possibly take this book for myself," I said. "Is it really alright for me to have it?"

"Of course it is. You can have the other two too, if you'd like," he said, but I immediately declined that offer. I mean, how could I just take the three grand fairy spell books for myself? "You said you never got to finish this one, right? Go ahead and take it; I'm sure the First Master wouldn't mind. It's a shame we couldn't hold a party for you this year since the guild hall is still under construction."

"It's fine. I'm getting a bit too old for huge parties anyways. Thanks for remembering, though. For the book too. I'll read it well and treasure it." I smiled as I hopped off the stool. "I should head out now. Sting's waiting for me. See 'ya, grandpa. Take care, okay?" I gave him a little wave as I headed for the door.

"Vina! Laxus and the Thunder Legion left you your present in the kitchen," Mira called out from behind the bar, and thus, I made an excited u-turn to grab the snacks they got me before meeting Sting.

"Ooh~ Snacks~ Who are those from?" Sting licked his lips as he peered over my shoulder.

"The Thunder Legion and Laxus. The book is from my grandpa," I answered and hooked my arms with his. "Hey, you. It's been a while since we last met up."

"Mm, it's been way too long." He leaned down and pecked my lips playfully before giving the top of my head the same treatment. "Work has been piling up, especially with all the reconstruction and changes being made in the Magic Council. But today is not a day to talk about work~ Happy birthday, Beans~!" He handed me a rather huge gift bag.
