Today was the first day of the x791 Grand Magic Games, and as expected, everyone was extremely excited for the festival's start. Our guarding team was finally starting to wake up as people started entering the room.
"I'm actually gonna go now. I promised to have breakfast with Sting, so I'll be taking my leave first," I waved to the others and returned to our room at the inn to freshen up a bit before meeting him. I glanced at the clock on the wall, which read seven fifteen; I have forty five minutes, so I guess I'll take a quick shower and change. After patting my hair dry and brushing it straight, I grabbed my purse and headed out to our meeting spot.
"Beans~!" Sting called out as he ran up to me, "Sorry, did you wait long?"
"No, I just got here," I answered, "Shall we go? I saw a place earlier that sold really nice healthy breakfast foods, so let's try some."
"Sounds good. Let's go," Sting smiled and interlocked his fingers with mine as he led me over to the store, "Woah! This place looks nice! Is it new?"
"Yeah I think so," I answered and started scanning the menu, "The açaí bowl looks good."
"Is that really how you pronounce that word? Açaí (a-sa-ee)?" Sting questioned.
"How have you been pronouncing it?"
"Acai (a-ka-i)" Sting shrugged, making me chuckle, "I guess I'll have the Greek yogurt fruit bowl thing and the strawberry cream cheese bagel. Is that all you're getting?"
"Yeah, I'm trying to cut my sweets intake, so I'll just have this and a smoothie," I said regretfully.
"Why? It's not like you're gaining weight or anything," Sting asked.
"Yeah, but I'm breaking out more," I sighed as Sting examined my face.
"You barely see it though, probably because of your makeup," he said and I sadly nodded, "Oh, you're wearing the dress I chose for you."
"Yeah, looks good, right?" I hummed happily and turned a little to show him all the back.
"Yeah, my girl looks good in everything," he complimented and patted my head as we sat down by a big window, "You ready for the big day?"
"Actually.. I'm not joining this year," I said as his face dropped.
"What, why? You were in the preliminary round, right?"
"Yeah, one of our S-Class members came back last night, so I switched out with him," I explained.
"Man, I wanted to see you fight," he pouted, "Oh well. You don't like fighting, so I guess it all worked out."
"Yeah, I'll be cheering everyone on from the stands, you included," I chuckled and poked his cheek, but he bit my finger lightly instead, "Hey, don't eat me. I don't taste good, I swear."
"Really? You taste good to me," he smirked and kissed the back of my hand, making me blush, "You're so cute."
"Don't tease me," I pouted and averted my eyes elsewhere. We continued to chat about random topics over our health breakfast and before we knew it, it was almost time for the Games to start, so we had to head back to the arena.
"I know we're on different teams, but cheer for me, 'kay?" Sting kissed my cheek.
"Yeah, good luck. I'll be rooting for you," I pecked his cheek in return before we parted ways to regroup with our guilds. As I watched him return to his team, I noticed someone I've never seen before: a cute girl with white hair, dressed in the same color. Is she new? I'm sure I'd remember a pretty face like hers... Oh well, I'll ask Sting later.
